Junior Minister Joanne Bunting attended the Green Flag Park Awards 2026 at Mossley Mill in Newtownabbey.

Speaking at the event, Junior Minister Bunting congratulated award winners and everyone involved in maintaining our parks and green spaces.

She said the theme of this year’s awards which focuses on making parks and open spaces safer for women and girls, highlights the importance of ensuring public spaces are safe and inclusive for everyone.

First Minister Michelle O’Neill and deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly have launched a competition to appoint a non-judicial member to the Truth Recovery Redress Service.

This is a significant milestone in establishing the new redress scheme for those whose lives have been impacted by Mother and Baby Institutions and Magdalene Laundries.

Junior Minister Aisling Reilly joined President Catherine Connolly and hundreds of guests at the National Day of Commemoration ceremony at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham in Dublin.

This was Minister Reilly’s second time attending the annual event, where wreaths were laid and tributes paid to the Irish men and women who lost their lives in past wars.
