Junior Minister Aisling Reilly joined CRJI, Revolve Comics and young people at the Guildhall to launch the new ‘Who’s Pulling Your Strings?’ comic book.

The comic book, developed through CRJI’s Tackling Exploitation initiative with support from TEO’s Communities in Transition Project, is designed to help kick-start conversations about grooming and exploitation.

Junior Minister Reilly said: “This comic book takes a difficult and serious issue and presents it in a way that will really capture the attention of young people. It will get them talking, help them recognise when something isn’t right and most importantly, reminds them that support is available.”

Junior Minister Joanne Bunting attended the launch of the Ballymena South Community Regeneration Action and Planning report.
Junior Minister Bunting praised the work being undertaken in Ballymena South to overcome challenges, promote regeneration, and support the wellbeing of the local community.
She said she hoped actions identified in the report would pave the way for further opportunities to strengthen partnership working to support community cohesion.

First Minister Michelle O’Neill and deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly have appointed Rachel Langdale KC as Chair of the Truth Recovery Public Inquiry into Mother and Baby Institutions, Magdalene Laundries and Workhouses.

Rachel Langdale KC is a highly respected barrister with extensive experience in public inquiries and complex investigations. Her appointment reflects the Executive’s commitment to ensuring the inquiry is independent and survivor focused.

Junior Ministers Aisling Reilly and Joanne Bunting welcomed Luca Fratini, Consul General of Italy for Scotland and Northern Ireland, to Stormont Castle on his first visit since taking up his appointment in July.

The Junior Ministers congratulated Mr Fratini on his appointment and discussed opportunities for closer cooperation across business, culture and education.

Speaking at the awards, the Ministers congratulated everyone shortlisted and highlighted the positive impact local businesses have on our economy, people and communities, as well as their work to promote environmental sustainability, employee wellbeing and training opportunities.

Junior Minister Joanne Bunting attended the inaugural SHE Women’s Health Forum in the Long Gallery at Parliament Buildings.
Speaking at the event, Junior Minister Bunting thanked organiser Precious Obasohan, founder of SHE Health, for bringing together healthcare professionals, researchers, advocates, policymakers and women with lived experience for meaningful engagement.
She noted that the forum provided an important opportunity for open discussion and helping to ensure that the voices and experiences of women inform and shape future policy and services.

Trussell's new report, Pathways to End the Need for Food Banks in Northern Ireland, sets out a vision where everyone is guaranteed the essentials.

Signing the pledge, the Junior Ministers committed to working towards a future where everyone has a warm, secure home and enough income to cover food and bills, so that no one is forced to rely on food banks to survive.
