Last week we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Kenneth for an incredible milestone, his 200th platelet donation, potentially saving 600 people lives, made even more special as he was celebrating his birthday too!
Kenneth travelled all the way from Lisnaskea to donate, and even when his bus broke down on the journey, he still made sure he got here in time. Which says everything about the kind of person he is.
When asked what inspires him to donate, Kenneth answered with one simple but powerful word: “People.”
A true people person, Kenneth loves coming in to donate, chatting with staff, and enjoying the warm atmosphere. In his words, our team “never stop smiling” and create a lovely atmosphere every time he visits.
Kenneth also dedicated 32 years of service to the ambulance service, helping people daily throughout his career. His compassion for others clearly continues through every platelet donation he gives.
His motivation is also deeply personal. Kenneth shared that his wife battled cancer, so he understands just how important platelets are for people going through treatment. Being able to donate and help others facing similar battles is something he considers a real pleasure.
When asked how he would encourage others to donate, Kenneth said:
“It’s a personal delight to help someone you’ve never met.”
Kenneth is an absolute gentleman and always a pleasure to chat to. We are so grateful for his kindness, commitment, and the difference he continues to make to so many lives through his donations.
Happy Birthday Kenneth, and thank you for an amazing 200 donations 💛 We can’t wait to welcome you back for your next one!
