Members of the public are being urged to share their stories about what was once the world’s biggest flax row spinning mill and to play a part in shaping the future of the historic site in East Belfast.

What's the story?

We want to hear your stories about the Strand Spinning Mill, or anything to do with the historic mill industry in Belfast.

Over the next few weeks we'll be popping up in various locations around Belfast to gather stories as well as look at how we can use the space in the old mill going forward.

Here's some highlights of our first public event in East Belfast at the Vault artist market. Keep an eye out for more pop ups in East Belfast and across the city, as well as a growing archive in the front of Portview Trade Centre!

Did you or someone you know used to work in one of Belfast's mills?

Whether your granny used to spin flax or your dad was a master weaver, we want to hear your stories from Strand Spinning Mill (now Portview Trade Centre) or any of the mills throughout Belfast's history.
