So Kemi Badenoch has misled Parliament. She said she had actively engaged with LGBT groups before making her statement on Wednesday announcing her proposals to not regnosise the gender of trans people from countries that allow self ID.

Pink News have checked with all the major LGBT organisations and none of them, as many of us expeted, had actually had any discussions with her since she became the Equalities Minster.

It is however, know that she has meet with LGB Alliance and S*x Matters, two anti-Trans groups who happen to share the same address.

Kemi Badenoch has not met with any of the UK's biggest LGBTQ+ organisations since she became minister for women and equalities.

This from the Equalities Minister Kemi Badenoch

"Too many people do not understand the law when it comes to self-ID. I have engaged extensively with LGBT groups in my role as Minister for Women & Equalities. But many of these groups support self-ID, which is not Govt policy.

"Stonewall do not decide the law of this country."

My take on this firstly, many of those LGBT+ groups do understand the law, basically because we have been fighting for changes to the law in respect to LGBT+ issues for years or even decades.

Secondly having engaged with the experts in a certain field, instead of listening to them about the needs of trans people. Instead of remaining to the fore of LGBT+ equality this equalities missing is going to take a step backwards from the current forward progress. I fully expect some of those countries on the approved list of gender recognition to be removed when they too move to self ID.

There is a certain irony to many of us that she then quotes Stonewall as making the law on trans or indeed LGBT+ issues and this body has often followed other groups on these matters and back in the day some of us referred to them as "S onewall" as they omitted the T.

The "deal" that Boris Johnson has agreed with the EU will result in more red tape for NI businesses with their GB trading partners. The "border" down the Irish Sea is certainly not what the people of NI expected in 2016, it is certainly not what they voted for.

Meanwhile the DUP are finally getting on the bandwagon about consent after 3 years of ignoring that the people here wanted to remain in the EU. This of course I that consent only applies in NI when it affects something that the DUP feel is important.

We potentially face a situation in 2 weeks them when the constitutional status of NI is being ripped apart by the back door deal that the PM has done. This is against the consent of the NI people who voted Remain. It is not in the best interest of NI people, business or services.

We have to give the people a say on this deal, which is worse than the one Theresa May offered and certainly is worse than the current deal we have as a member of the EU (with special benefits within that too). We trust the EU will allow a delay to allow a People's Vote if this is passed by Parliament this weekend.
