NIGRA is the oldest gay rights organization in Northern Ireland. Since its conception, it has sought to ensure ‘GayRights’ means enhancing the rights of anyone oppressed on account of their -actual or imputed – sexuality. Jonathan Groff and Daniel Radcliffe are reuniting.

But this is VERY different from Merrily We Roll Along.

Their new film, Trust the Man, is a psychological thriller set during the Vietnam War.

The official story follows an ambitious Army Intelligence officer assigned to investigate a decorated soldier with a mysterious past.

Surveillance turns into interrogation.

Loyalty becomes obsession.

And the two men develop what the film describes as a “dangerous and uncontrollable connection.”

Interesting already.

Then Daniel Radcliffe revealed another important part of the story:

The film explores homosexuality in the military during the Vietnam era.

That raises the stakes considerably.

This was decades before Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.

Gay and le***an service members could be investigated and discharged simply because of their sexuality or same-sex conduct.

And the cast keeps getting more interesting.

Groff — one of Hollywood’s most recognizable openly gay leading men — is joined by openly gay veteran actor Victor Garber.

And Boots fans may recognize another name:

Angus O’Brien. 👀

Yes, Hicks himself is joining the cast.

We don’t yet know who O’Brien plays — or whether Groff and Radcliffe’s characters become lovers.

So no, we’re not calling this a gay romance.

Yet.

But a dark military thriller about homosexuality, surveillance and obsession during Vietnam?

With Jonathan Groff, Daniel Radcliffe AND Angus O’Brien?

You have our attention.
