**Final Chance to Help Shape Our New Regional Mother and Baby Unit. Survey ends Wednesday 21st October**

🤱 We are developing Northern Ireland’s first dedicated Mother & Baby Unit, which will provide specialist inpatient care for mothers experiencing severe perinatal mental health difficulties while allowing them to remain with their babies.

💜🌻The Belfast Child Launches at City Hall🌻💜

The Belfast Child is a partnership-led, Belfast-wide vision to bring organisations together so that children and families, particularly those with children aged 0–8, receive more coordinated and timely support.

The initiative was developed through an extensive co-production process involving stakeholders from across Belfast.

It brought together the Belfast Area Outcomes Group (BAOG), chaired by Kerrylee Weatherall, Executive Director of Social Work for Belfast and Belfast Community Planning Partnership, with Belfast Health and Social Care Trust (BHSCT) and Belfast City Council (BCC) as the lead organisations.

The overall ambition is to make Belfast a child-friendly and inclusive city, ensuring children and families can access seamless pathways to the support and services they need to thrive. 🙌

With approximately one third of Belfast's population aged under 21, investment in children is an important part of achieving the wider Belfast Agenda 2020–2035 vision. 💜

The updated Belfast Recovery College Programme is now live! 📅

The Belfast Recovery College welcomes everyone 16+ to our free mental health and wellbeing education and learning programmes. We have a range of courses open to service users, families, friends, carers, all trust staff and anyone with an interest in mental health. Valuing the combined lived experience of mental health and professional knowledge we co-produce and co-facilitate courses to improve the wellbeing of the people in Belfast.

An end-of-project Art Exhibition event will take place at The Mac, Belfast on 23rd October 🎨

The event will feature art that was created from many individual art pieces made by members of the public during a programme of community outreach work the Cancer Trials Network have been involved in this year.

The project focuses on improving access to blood cancer trials for patients in Northern Ireland and has a focus on equality and inclusion 🤝

The event is open to all so make sure you drop in if you have a chance!

A 6-month pilot of Body Worn Cameras (BWCs) is being trialled to support a safer environment for staff, patients and visitors, commencing today in the RVH and Mater Emergency Departments 🎦

A limited number of Emergency Department staff from both RVH and Mater sites will be trained and authorised to use BWCs including nursing staff, security officers, and/or senior decision makers.

Staff participation in the use of BWCs will be voluntary and based on the area of work within the Emergency Department 🏥

The use of BWCs is voluntary, proportionate, and governed by clear policies, training and data protection requirements. They do not record continuously and are never used covertly.

💚Belfast Trust Health Improvement Team has been partnering with Libraries NI to run a series of workshops in the lead-up to this Saturday.

The workshops are part of the regional mental health campaign “Feeling Anxious?” that runs from September to October.

Those attending the workshops will have the opportunity to learn calming skills techniques to manage anxiety.
