Belfast Harbour’s journey began almost two centuries ago, when we laid the foundations of the modern, thriving port and estate which serves the city and region today.

Now we’re looking ahead to the next 25 years, and how we can shape a strong future as a cornerstone of the local economy – all guided through our exciting and dynamic new Masterplan 2025-50.

Our journey is already underway… and we can’t wait to bring you with us.

We will be welcoming two ships from the same cruise line this coming week, as the Hapag-Lloyd Cruises vessels Hanseatic Nature and the Europa 2 arrive into Belfast for the day. This will be the only planned visit of the season for both ships but we can look forward to a duo of calls from the Europa 2’s fleet mate the Europa in July and August.

The Oceania Cruises Insignia and the Silversea Silver Spirit will also be making the first of their two planned calls apiece this year, with the Saga Cruises Spirit of Discovery arriving for the first of its three visits.

We are always delighted to welcome leisure boat users to our inner harbour and marina, where they can enjoy our newly refurbished facilities as well as access to the many wonderful attractions and amenities in the Titanic Quarter and Maritime Mile areas.

And with many great events planned over the summer – including this weekend’s AVA Festival – we are asking anyone planning to visit by vessel to do so as safely and responsibly as possible, from making sure that their craft does not obstruct or interfere with shipping movements in our channels, to ensuring that they and their passengers are wearing lifejackets and behaving in a responsible manner.

The sun was shining this morning as we welcomed three spectacular vessels to Belfast Harbour for the one and only planned triple cruise call of the season!

Joining us from early in the morning were regular caller the Ambassador Cruise Line Ambition for the latest ‘turnaround’ cruise of the season – whereby guests both embark and disembark in Belfast, resulting in a boost to overnight stays and tourist spend in the city.

We also welcomed two smaller ‘expedition’ vessels – the Ponant L’Austral, which docked at Gotto Wharf, followed later in the morning by the Aurora Expeditions Douglas Mawson which made a rare visit to Albert Quay, offering guests a close-up view of Titanic Belfast and the Harland & Wolff cranes as they arrived.

Altogether today’s visitors bring the number of passengers welcomed so far this season to more than 70,000. Altogether we will be welcoming around 300,000 visitors to the city this year, aboard 62 different ships from 34 cruise lines.

RESPECT THE WATER THIS SUMMER

With the recent sunny weather, and increased numbers of bathers in and around Belfast Lough, we are sharing details of the 2026 RNLI Float to Live campaign, aimed at helping save lives.

If you find yourself in trouble when out in the water, remember the following steps:

- Tilt your head back with ears submerged
- Relax and try to control your breathing
- Use your hands to help you stay afloat
- It's okay if your legs sink, we all float differently

You can also practice these steps at a supervised location, like a swimming pool or lifeguarded beach so you know what to do in an emergency.

To find out more, visit RNLI.org/FloatGuide

Belfast Harbour has also created a series of special Water Wise videos with Belfast Harbour Police and Lagan Search & Rescue, offering advice on how to stay safe when visiting in and around the inner harbour. Find out more at: https://bit.ly/45txI9G
