Belfast Harbour Police said: "We are working closely with Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, and staff of Clearway Disposals, following the out break of a fire at its scrap metal recycling facility in the Harbour Estate. We would advise local residents and surrounding businesses to keep windows and doors closed, as a precautionary measure and for people to avoid the area."

If you're seeking some outdoor fun this Bank Holiday, take a bit of time out to explore Belfast's historic waterfront and find out about its wildlife on the Blueway Trail!

The trail begins next to the pontoon at AC Marriott Hotel at City Quays, crosses the Lagan Weir, and continues along the waterfront, across to Belfast Harbour Marina, before concluding at Titanic Hotel Belfast. Each stop is clearly marked on a downloadable map available at maritime-mile.com, where participants can find clues and fascinating insights into Belfast's natural heritage and maritime environment. Answers to the clues can be found on different interpretation panels along the trail.

To take part in the Trail Quiz, or for further information on the Maritime Mile Blueway Trail, visit https://maritime-mile.com/blueway/

Another very special week, as the first-ever visit of the Seadream II on Tuesday also coincides with the day the entire SeaDream Yacht Club family celebrates its 25th anniversary!

We’ll also have welcome returns for a host of other well-known names as we transition into the Autumn phase of this year’s cruise season after what has been another very busy summer schedule.

A Belfast first for Sapphire Princess!

We were delighted to welcome Sapphire Princess to Belfast for the very first time on Sunday.

Built in 2004, the 290m Princess Cruises vessel made her Belfast debut as part of an epic 28-day voyage from Copenhagen to Boston. The call was particularly fitting as we continue to celebrate 30 years of cruise in Belfast.

To mark the occasion, our Commercial Executive Gary Hall joined Captain Mario Juresko and Staff Captain Pasquale Russo for the traditional plaque exchange. They were joined by local agents Hamilton Shipping and our partners at Visit Belfast, making it a fantastic opportunity to bring together the wider Cruise Belfast team and commemorate this inaugural visit.

Our thanks to the Captain and crew for their warm welcome, and we look forward to seeing Sapphire Princess back in Belfast again soon!
