Recently, colleagues from the Business Services Organisation (BSO) Strategic Planning & Customer Engagement (SP&CE) Directorate, spent a half day volunteering at the Ravine Community Nature Reserve, carrying out practical conservation tasks, including painting.

The Ravine is a social enterprise, based in Knockbracken Healthcare Park South Belfast, and supports young adults facing mental health challenges by providing qualifications, training and offering work experience structured around environmental conservation.

The day was a great success with staff putting their painting skills (or lack of skills) to good use. The homemade traybakes at tea break were well received by everyone 😋😋.

Thank you to the staff at the Ravine for the opportunity to volunteer and experience the work they do to support young people.

Business Services Organisation (BSO) are supporting World Environment Day through the decarbonisation of our vehicle fleet.

In May, BSO Community Equipment and Continence Service (CECS) introduced a total of sixteen new vehicles, 5 Electric Vehicles (EVs) and 11 operating on Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) into their fleet.

These changes will deliver an overall carbon reduction of approximately 95% across the fleet, making a significant contribution towards BSO’s target of a 48% reduction in emissions by 2030.

Transport is one of our 6 key areas of focus in our Sustainability Strategy, which sets out a clear plan on how we are reducing our impact on the environment, creating positive change for staff, communities and the planet. Today we celebrate Biomedical Science Day - a day dedicated to recognising and raising awareness of the vital role biomedical scientists play in healthcare.

Business Services Organisation colleagues across all Directorates and specifically the NIPIMS Programme Teams are proud to celebrate the passion, expertise, and dedication of our biomedical science and laboratory colleagues. Our biomedical scientist colleagues were central to achieving the success of the NIPIMS Programme and Pathology Transformation.

On this 10th Biomedical Science Day, we encourage everyone to take a moment to recognise all biomedical scientists and laboratory staff whose essential work supports patient care across Northern Ireland.

Thank you for the critical role you play in diagnosing, treating, and preventing disease.

Recently, staff from Business Services Organisation (BSO) Accounts Payable Shared Services (APSS) held a Health and Wellbeing Day at Kilmore Country House in Glenariffe.

The day included a talk from Lena by Inspire, who shared tips on managing stress and looking after your wellbeing. Following some refreshments, staff enjoyed some fun interactive activities and a chance to chat and connect with colleagues away from the office.

The stunning scenery of Glenariffe, combined with the beautiful sunshine, truly made the day extra special.
