I’ve got my youngest student working with me today, my 6 year old Grand daughter Evie. A Touch base meeting with Chief Executive, lunch in the bobbin, now on route to Police Headquarter to deliver a suspicious nasty piece of post that I received by an unknown source. I will not be deterred from my work on the ground, for my constituents in East Belfast.

On a good note a very productive meeting with an officer and three dog walkers on Tuesday morning at Victoria Park. Having a discussion around dogs taking ill through some form of Toxins. Thankfully all dogs are returning to good health, but the vet fees have been astronomically expensive. It is safe to say that the council do not use poison for rat infestations in any of our council owned properties. The weedkiller is also free from toxins that would harm any pets. However others could have spilt something unknowingly. I would ask if anyone sees anything suspicious lying around or anyone spraying anything on the Greenaway towards King George’s Park or in the Victoria Park area, to let staff know who are on site or contact me.

A few house-calls and then a trip to the cinema for my student.

We Will Remember Them!

On this day 110 years ago, the Battle of the Somme began.

Over 141 days, more than a million men were killed or wounded among them tens of thousands lost on the first morning alone. On that first morning, the men of the 36th Ulster Division went over the top at Thiepval.

We remember the courage and the sacrifice.

Lest we forget 🌹

I received disturbing information today whilst carrying out constituency house calls near Victoria Park, of the poisoning of dogs whilst their owners were out for a walk with their beloved pets. Within Victoria Park and the Path leading to King Georges Pitch, and the path that skirts down the pathway and up to Connsbbrook Drive. The owners were able to say their pets ate nothing and all were on a lead.

A very worrying trend, with the dogs becoming very ill immediately, shaking uncontrollably, frothing at the mouth and convulsing, all needing emergency vet interventions. We need to urgently sort this issue out so that your pets are safe wherever you take them for their walks.

Any owners of pets who within these areas had a pet that took very ill due to unexplained poisoning. Please make contact with me via private message or telephone me on my mobile 07833223215. so that I can gauge how many pets were affected and where they took ill so that we can tackle this head on.
