Coal extraction - a big climate no-no and bad news for the lungs and drinking water of people living nearby.

Russian Vladimir Slivyak will be talking in the Canada Room at 5:30pm on Monday about the devastation caused by Russian coal mining to indigenous communities, and how Northern Ireland's coal imports link us to this horrible mess.

As a result of our sit in, Queen's University agreed to consider ending the funnelling of public funds into fossil fuel giants. They will make this decision on 21st June at Senate.

This week Queen's Students' Union are holding the annual Student Leader elections, and we're supporting the REUNION team as those we believe offer the best support to our Fossil Fuel Divestment campaign! Some were members of and these candidates support radical campaigning and a Fossil Free QUB.

You know something historic is happening when a massive corporate energy lobby group u-turns and says we need to phase out coal and boost clean energy.

A green world is on the way - it's just a matter of time. QUB should ditch fossil fuels, lead the way, and not remain stuck in the past.
