Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team has been conducting proactive patrols across the New Lodge, Antrim Road and Waterworks areas.

During patrols, officers observed two youths riding an e-bike and an e-scooter dangerously on the road and through the park. Both riders were seen carrying out wheelies in the middle of the road, creating a significant risk to themselves and other road users.

Both vehicles were stopped and dealt with by police. The two riders now face the criminal justice system.

We continue to receive reports regarding the dangerous and illegal use of e-bikes and e-scooters. Our message is clear, this behaviour is not harmless fun. It is only a matter of time before a child, pedestrian, cyclist or rider is seriously injured or killed.

Tonight your local Neighbourhood Policing Officers were conducting a proactive operation this evening targeting drug dealing.

A male was observed acting suspiciously and was subsequently stopped and searched. During the search, officers seized a quantity of co***ne, deal bags, scales and cash. The male was arrested.

While we clearly have not taken down the biggest drug dealer in North Belfast, this is another example of our ongoing commitment to tackling drug dealing at every level – from street-level dealers to those involved in organised crime gangs

Our message is clear: if you are dealing drugs in North Belfast, we will continue to identify, disrupt and arrest you.

Drug dealing causes real harm to our communities and we rely on information from the public to help us target those involved. If you have information about drug dealing in your area, please contact police on 101, report online, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

This week, local neighbourhood officers took part in Impact training, delivered in partnership with Alternatives alongside local young people.

The session gave officers valuable insight into the challenges faced by young people in the community while also increasing awareness of current community safety issues.

This session supported our ongoing commitment to building safe, confident and engaged communities through positive partnership working and youth engagement.

Thank you Belfast PCSP for supporting police attendance and to Alternatives for involving us in this important initiative.

Today officers launched an operation targeting illegal and anti-social bike, e-bike and scooter use across Belfast. In the first 15 minutes, officers seized 2 bikes and 1 scooter as well as making one drug-related arrest.

This activity is about more than enforcement. Illegal bike use creates real risk for pedestrians, road users and local residents, and it is often linked to wider criminality and anti-social behaviour.

Our message is clear: where bikes are being used illegally or dangerously, we will take action.

Further proactive enforcement activity will continue.

Anyone with information about illegal bike use in their area can contact police on 101, report online, or call 999 in an emergency.
