Police are growing increasingly concerned for the whereabouts of David McVeigh. David is 57 years of age and described as approx 5 ft 4 stocky build , a bald head with a goatee beard.

David was last seen in the University street area of Belfast on the 10th July 2026.

Road Policing Officers from Mahon Road Station - Portadown and Steeple Station - Antrim, along with officers from the Local Policing Team, Armed Response Unit, Air Support Unit and Dog Unit, worked together to pursue this stolen motorbike tonight. It was pursued through North and West Belfast.

One of the occupants of the moped jumped off and was chased on foot by police - he was caught and arrested.

The moped had been stolen from the Newtownabbey area. It was abandoned and has been recovered and will be returned to the rightful owner.

At around 2pm today, officers from Tennent St responded to a report of a male armed with a knife in the Alliance Avenue area.

A short time later - as a result of our enquiries - a 20 year old male was arrested for a number of offences in the Ballymoney St area.

The male has been taken to our custody suite as our investigation continues.

Police at Tennent Street are investigating an assault that occurred on 20th July - we are appealing for information and witnesses to come forward.

The victim was injured in an unprovoked attack on Hartwell Place at around 9pm on that date. He was punched to the head a number of times - the suspect continued his attack by kicking the victim to the head a number of times after had had fallen to the ground. We need to catch the person responsible.

If you witnessed this incident or if you were involved in it - we ask you to come forward.
