Halloween treats at Belfast Zoo this half term 🎃🎉🐘🦁

From 26 October - 1 November children, students and seniors can enjoy half price tickets at Belfast Zoo!

Meet the incredible animals, and explore all of the spookiest corners of our 55-acre site whilst making unforgettable memories.

⏰Open Monday to Sunday each week from 10am until 4pm, with last admission at 2.30pm!

Autumn has arrived in the city & we have a host of festivals, family activities & council funded events coming up:📽️👏🕺

✨Belfast International Arts Festival – now until to 8 November
✨Cinemagic - running until November
✨Our resident artist Kerrie Hanna will host her exhibition at Botanic Gardens this Saturday 24 October, 1pm-3pm
✨Belfast Film Festival – 29 October to 7 November
✨Halloween in the city - with events in St George's Market, 2 Royal Avenue, a pumpkin patch at City Hall & a monster trail across the city skyline!
✨Sound of Belfast Festival – 6 to 16 November
✨Late Night Art - art galleries across the city will open late on Thursday 5 November
✨Outburst Q***r Arts Festival – 13 to 21 November

Meet Deòiridh - from Cranmore Integrated Primary School🤩

Deòiridh & her classmates have been part of 'The Local Lunchbox' initiative - exploring where local food comes from through practical, hands-on learning.🍲🍅🥕

As part of the project, the children created their own sandwiches - looking at flavours & experimenting with ingredients. No parsley for Deòiridh!👌

The Local Lunchbox is part of Belfast Flavours: Mini Meals –
Children’s Food Culture and Local Produce Project & we are proud to help deliver it - alongside Belfast Flavours & DAERA’s Northern Ireland Regional Food Programme.

You can use our website to report issues such as:

✔️ dog fouling
✔️ street cleansing, including litter
✔️ dumping
✔️ overflowing litter bins
✔️ missed bin collections

We also know that fly-tipping can be a problem in areas around the city - this can be reported too.

We offer a free bulky waste collection service for residents for larger items like sofas, mattresses and kitchen appliances.

Fly-tipping and dumping waste is illegal and you could risk a fine of up to £2,500.

We're urging people to please work with us in keeping their communities free from unsightly mess & dumping - thanks for your co-operation👏

Our Registrar's office receives lots of queries about ordering copies of birth, adoption, death, marriage and civil partnership certificates.

While we do carry out the initial registrations for most life events, the actual records are held by the General Register Office (GRO), and not us.

If you need to order a certificate, you can:

👉 order them online via the NI Direct website
👉call 0300 200 7890 and pay over the phone
👉 send an application by post or bring it in person to the GRO offices at Colby House, Stranmillis Court, Belfast, BT9 5RR

It was great to call into the Art Class - Still Life Drawing class at Ligoniel and The Ageility Circus Skills session at Morton Community Centre - lovely to see so many happy, smiley faces 🤩

Don’t forget you can refill your reusable water bottle in the city centre if you are out & about today.

Northern Ireland Water refill stations are available at City Hall and St George's Market, helping you stay hydrated on the go.

By choosing to refill, you’re helping to cut down on single-use plastics.

We're delighted to be part of this climate conscious scheme in the city centre 👏

Water points are also available at Ormeau Park, Connswater Community Greenway (at CS Lewis Square), Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park, Woodvale Park & The Adventurous Playground at Cave Hill Country Park.

Earlier this year, council also agreed to deliver further water refill points at ten more park sites across the city - more details on new sites will be coming soon!
