☀️ Let’s keep Belfast beautiful this summer! 🏞️♻️

As we hopefully head into some warmer summer days, many of us will be enjoying sunny backyard barbecues, park picnics, and tackling household clear-outs.

Here's how you can recycle right this summer:

🌷Picnics and trips: Out and about in the city centre or enjoying our beautiful parks? Be sure to recycle your plastic bottles and aluminium drink cans.

🍗Summer barbecues: Make sure to completely extinguish and cool any disposable barbecue trays before disposing. Give plastic condiment bottles and burger packaging a quick rinse before placing them into your home recycling.

📦Summer clear-outs: Doing a big household refresh? Remember that all our recycling centres and civic amenity sites are open late every Wednesday evening! Save time by separating your items into bags and boxes before arriving.

🛋️Bulky waste: Got a larger item like an old mattress or outdoor furniture to move? Don't dump it! You can book a free collection through our website.

With Belfast being a European City of Sport this year, we're delighted to be supporting Ride on Belfast once again🚴🚴‍♀️

The popular cycle ride will take place next Friday 12 June - starting at Queen's University Belfast and ending at City Hall.

This free event runs during Bike Week to encourage more people to leave their car at home and get on their bike.

And, with a big summer ahead for Belfast, it's the ideal time to try out cycling and discover a whole new way to commute if you work in the city centre.

After the ride, you can get some advice on bike maintenance and active travel and enjoy a free breakfast too!

Meet at Queen's University at 7.45am for departure at 8am.
