As part of Heritage Open Days, we'd like to invite you to Strutt's North Mill on Sunday 13th September for a fun day of history and family activities! Meet costumed characters as they tell you what life was like working at this revolutionary mill in the 19th century. Discover the amazing engineering of the Grade I listed North Mill with knowledgeable guides and short talks, story time for the younger ones, traditional crafts and more!

🏴‍☠️ The countdown is on... Amber Valley's Pirate Takeover Festival drops anchor next week!

With four FREE family days out taking place across Amb-arrr Valley during the school holidays, there's plenty of pirate-themed fun waiting for your crew this August.

Every Pirate Takeover includes live entertainment, incredible performers, crafts and activities, and the chance to become a pirate yourself at the Pirate Academy. But here's the best part – each event has its own unique line-up, with different performers, activities and things to make, so you can enjoy a different adventure at every stop.

📍 Ripley Market Place – Wednesday 12 August, 11am – 3pm
📍 Heanor Market Place – Monday 17 August, 11am – 3pm
📍 Severn Square, Alfreton – Tuesday 25 August, 11am – 3pm
📍 Belper Memorial Gardens – Monday 31 August, 11am – 3pm
