**APPEAL**

We are investigating a report of a burglary at a property on Moorside Lane, Holbrook. We suspect local youths from Kilburn are involve after being sighted on the property and heading back towards the direction of Kilburn when challenged by members of the public. If anyone has any information regarding this please contact 101 and quote crime number 26000466515.

While it may seem like harmless fun, it is considered a burglary to break into an unoccupied building even in if nothing is taken, not to mention dangers of broken glass and other hazards.

We believe that young people are involved so we are asking parents to check up on there children and challenge where they are and what they are doing, we all want the six week holidays to be fun and with out incidents.

| Attempted keyless car theft in Kilburn

Officers from the Amber Valley Safer Neighbourhood Team are appealing for possible witnesses or CCTV footage in Kilburn following an attempted theft of a car. It is believed the suspect was trying to use a relay attack which amplifies the signal of the car key.

The incident occurred at around 02:30Hrs on Saturday 1st August 2026.

We are releasing an image of the suspect in the hope that someone may recognise the offender, or alternatively seen them arriving in the area possibly in a vehicle.

Officers have already completed enquiries in the local area but are now asking anyone who has not already been spoken to by police to review their CCTV footage.

Luckily the vehicle owner had used additional security measures which ensured the vehicle stayed secure.

We are advising everyone in the area to review the security measures on their vehicles to prevent them being targeted.

Thieves only need to be within a few metres of your car key to capture the signal, even if it’s inside your home. This means that even if your car and home are secure, thieves can still unlock, start and steal your car.

How to protect your keyless entry car:
• When at home keep your car key (and the spare) well away from the car
• Put the keys in a screened or signal-blocking pouch, such as a Faraday Bag and check if the bag or pouch is still working every few months
• Reprogramme your keys if you buy a second-hand car
• Turn off the wireless signal on your key fob when it is not being used

Anyone who may have information that could assist is asked to contact us using one of the methods below and please quote incident number 26000457584:

• Facebook – send a private message to the Derbyshire Constabulary page

| Patrols at Alport Heights completed 🫡

Reports have been received recently from the local residents and community surrounding Alport Heights, regarding anti social behaviour/driving and drug use.

We have completed patrols this evening in the area, engaged with drivers at the site and checked vehicles through our systems - all was in order 🤝🏻

REMEMBER: Alport Heights, like many other spots in Amber Valley, is a beautiful scenic place to attend this time of year, please look after it and drive responsibly.

P.s. we love a sunset picture too ☀️
