The scaffolding has come down, showing the mural for the Late Donald Rose, WWII Veteran in all its glory:

🎨 SCAFFOLDING DOWN — MURAL REVEALED!

The scaffolding has been removed from Ilkeston Town Hall — and the beautiful new mural honouring Donald Rose is now on full display for everyone to see!
The Mural was funded by Erewash Borough Council as a community tribute to Donald and all veterans.

Councillor Kate Fennelly, the Erewash’s Armed Forces Champion paid tribute to Donald saying :-“he was a wonderful man and this is a permanent tribute to Britain’s oldest Second World War veteran, who lived a remarkable 110 years.
We will remember you Donald.”

For Christmas 2026, Static Firm Base/PJOBs BFPO destinations have a last posting date of Sat 24 October
Operations & HM Ships BFPO destinations have a last posting date of Tue 17 November. These are the deadlines for mailing items from the UK to ensure they arrive at the BFPO location before Christmas.

Local Cadets, LC Mitchell & OC Damien will be taking part in the Sea Cadets National Trafalgar Parade in London at the weekend to represent their unit:

Two of our Cadets have this morning picked up the transport and are heading south to take part in Sea Cadets National Trafalgar Day Parade in London.

Good luck to LC Mitchell and OC Damien who have been given this fantastic opportunity to proudly take part in this amazing parade in our nations capital city.

Gentlemen, keep your heads held high, shoulders back and chests out as you represent our unit, district, area and the Borough of Erewash in this most prestigious engagement; above all, enjoy the experience and live the dream.

We are proud to announce that our NB Delilah is looking for a new veteran to live on her. Her 1st deployment has finished extremely well - with her beneficiary moving out to a job and a new home. That's exactly what we want to happen - someone finding their feet on her and then moving on to the next stage of their life. Result!
