A question for our local history enjoyers: what connects J. M. Barrie, author of Peter Pan, and Berkhamsted's own Rex Cinema? Keep reading for the answer!

Before it was The Rex, it was the Egerton House, home to the Llewelyn Davies family. The family was known to have a close relationship with J. M. Barrie; the character of Peter Pan was inspired by their five sons and even named after Peter Llewelyn Davies.

Even though the Summer Reading Challenge may be coming to a close, we want to make sure everyone continues picking up books during the National Year of Reading.

We noticed a lot of children have been reading history books for their challenge, so we put together this display of all sorts of nonfiction covering different historical periods, including the ever-popular Horrible Histories!
