Not much longer until the Summer Reading Challenge begins. We have a host of things to look forward to, including our VR Headset drop-in and a special Read to the Beat Storytime with rhymes!

You can join in on both of these activities by visiting our library on July 4th, the first day of the Summer Reading Challenge. There will be more activities to come throughout the summer.

Welcome to the Summer of Sport everyone!

Continuing with the National Year of Reading, why not combine your little ones love with football with a new love for reading? Between watching matches of the FIFA or ICC World Cups, they can continue to appreciate football through reading, learning about the pros or enjoying fiction with football at its heart.

If you can believe it, there's only 2 MORE WEEKS until the Summer Reading Challenge begins! Here are some ways you can get prepared in the meantime:

- Keep an eye out for a Summer Reading Challenge assembly at your child's school.
- Visit the library ahead of time to make sure your library card is up to date.
- Attend our children's events such as Storytime and LEGO Club to get your little one familiar with the library.

"In the light of the moon a little egg lay on a leaf."

Hidden around the library are beautifully decorated rocks from Berko Rocks! They are intricately painted with a Hungry Caterpillar theme. Can you find one, share it, take it away and hide it in a different location?

We also have a brightly coloured display in our donations box which is 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' themed - take a look next time you visit!
