🏘️ Backing Berwick High Street

Berwick has a unique town centre with an incredible history, but Colin R Hardy believes we need to keep working to make it somewhere residents, businesses and visitors can be proud of.

If elected to Berwick Town Council, improving the High Street will be one of Colin’s priorities.

That means keeping the town centre clean and welcoming, looking after our public spaces and working with local businesses, the County Council and other partners to support Berwick’s future.

Colin has a proven record of working with others to get investment into Berwick. Now he wants to use that experience on the Town Council.

💬 Colin: “I want to improve our High Street and make Berwick town centre a place we can all be proud of.”

💷 Colin R Hardy will stand up for value for money

Colin believes residents deserve to know their money is being spent wisely.

If elected for Castle Ward, Colin will work to keep council tax down, challenge unnecessary spending and make sure the Town Council concentrates on delivering the services residents actually value.

From keeping Berwick clean and maintaining our public spaces to supporting the things that make our town a great place to live, the priority should be delivering value for residents.

💬 Colin Hardy: “I will work to keep council tax down and deliver value for money.”

🏗️ A proven record of delivering for Berwick

Colin R Hardy isn't new to representing our community.

As a Northumberland County Councillor from 2021 to 2025, Colin worked hard for local residents and helped bring millions of pounds of investment into Berwick.

That included major projects such as:

🔵 Berwick's new leisure centre
🔵 Investment into Maltings Berwick
🔵 Investment in The Living Barracks at Berwick Barracks
🔵 Tens of millions of pounds into Berwicks schools

Colin now wants to bring that same determination and experience to Berwick Town Council.

A strong local voice. A proven record. Getting things done for Berwick.

♿Colin R Hardy campaigning for a more accessible Berwick

Colin has experience of caring for his paraplegic sister, giving him a first-hand understanding of the challenges disabled people and their families can face simply trying to access the facilities many of us take for granted.

That experience has helped drive Colin's long-standing campaigning for more Changing Places facilities.

And here in Berwick, we have seen real progress.

🔵 In 2024, the Conservative-led Northumberland County Council delivered a new Changing Places facility at Woolmarket in the town centre. Before that the new Leisure centre built by Northumberland Conservatives also included state of the art Changing Places facilities.

Colin knows what a difference proper accessible facilities can make, giving disabled people greater dignity, independence and confidence, while making life easier for their families and carers too.

If elected Colin will make sure this campaign never stops but also we see more investment into all the public toilets in the town

🗑️ Colin Hardy doesn’t just talk about keeping Berwick tidy, he gets stuck in!

Colin R Hardy has regularly been out litter picking, helping to keep our local area clean and looking its best.

Berwick Town Council is responsible for dozens of litter bins, hundreds of benches and a range of public spaces across the town. Colin believes getting the basics right should be a priority.

If elected for Castle Ward, he’ll push for cleaner streets, well maintained public spaces and a Town Council that takes pride in Berwick.

💬 Colin Hardy: a local candidate prepared to roll up his sleeves and get things done.

🗳️ Meet Colin Hardy, your Conservative candidate for Castle Ward of Berwick Town Council.

Colin lives in Castle Ward and has a strong record of working for Berwick.

From 2021 to 2025, Colin served as a Northumberland County Councillor, working for local residents and helping to bring millions of pounds of investment into Berwick, including the new leisure centre and major investment in The Maltings and Berwick Barracks.

Before retiring, Colin spent his career in the oil industry, gaining experience in business, managing people and getting things done.

Now he wants to put that experience back to work for his local community on Berwick Town Council.

💬 Colin said:
"I live here in the ward and care deeply about our town. I want to be a strong local voice who gets things done."

🏰 Celebrating Berwick’s history and investing in its future

Great to see another fantastic event coming to The Living Barracks at Berwick Barracks, with medieval coin striking as part of the Berwick-upon-Tweed Heritage Open Days on 19–20 September.

The Barracks are an incredibly important part of our town’s heritage, which is why the Conservative Government and County Council backed major investment in their future, helping secure the regeneration of this historic site for generations to come.

Colin R Hardy has long supported investment in Berwick and wants to see projects like the Barracks continue to bring more visitors, opportunities and activity into our town.

There’s plenty happening in Berwick, make sure you get along and support it! 🛡️⚔️
