🇬🇧 Beverley Armed Forces Day!

Ever wondered how the military trains using cutting-edge virtual simulation?

At Beverley Armed Forces Day on 4th July, the whole family can find out!

The Defence School of Transport uses Virtual Battle Space (VBS4) as part of our everyday training, and on 4th July we're giving you the chance to try it for yourselves at Normandy Barracks.

Get behind the wheel of some of the British Army's most iconic vehicles, including the SV - a military heavy goods vehicle, AJAX, an armoured fighting vehicle, and last but not least, the Challenger main battle tank, all while aircraft, drones and soldiers move around you in a fully immersive virtual world.

It's a fun and fascinating way to experience the very same technology our personnel train with every day.

Come and give it a go on 4th July, Normandy Barracks, Beverley.

We are delighted to congratulate SSgt Dean Bradshaw-Morris on being recognised in The King's Birthday Honours List, and will receive an AGC Colonel Commandant's Commendation.

This prestigious honour is a fitting recognition of his outstanding contribution to DST and the Army, and reflects his dedication, leadership and commitment over his years of service.

Everyone at DST is incredibly proud of this well-deserved achievement and the positive impact he continues to make daily at DST.

Athletes from 25 Regiment proudly represented both the Regiment and DST at the Inter Services & Corps 10km Championship in Nottingham earlier this month.

The team delivered an outstanding performance, securing 1st place in the U23 Open Team category and finishing as Runner-Up in the Open Team competition.

A special mention goes to Pte Prajol Tamang, who ran an impressive 33-minute 10km, placing among the fastest overall and finishing 3rd in the Royal Logistic Corps.

Sgt Greenhalgh also put in a remarkable effort, completing the 10km before going on to compete in the Army Duathlon just one hour later, finishing a 5km run, 30km cycle, and final 5km run—an exceptional display of endurance.

Strong leadership and coordination from Cpl Rabin Rana were instrumental to the team’s success throughout.

A fantastic effort all round!

At the Defence School of Transport, we know a thing or two about operating vehicles - but on 4th July at Beverley Armed Forces Day, you can put your own skills to the test.

The Stealth Racer Formula 1 Simulator will be live at Normandy Barracks, giving you the chance to feel every corner, every gear change, and every surge of acceleration in a full-size professional racing simulator.

From military vehicles to motorsport, this is one day where transport takes centre stage.

💪 Outstanding achievement from LCpl Jo Bastian! 💪

Our very own LCpl Jo Bastion recently secured victory in the UKAF Strongest Woman U73kg category at a highly competitive event in Colchester, which brought together athletes from across the Armed Forces.

The competition tested strength, determination, and resilience across a demanding range of disciplines.

Following months of dedicated training and preparation, LCpl Bastion’s hard work paid off in impressive fashion. Reflecting on the experience, she said: “One of the highlights of the competition was the support shown throughout the event, with athletes encouraging one another to achieve their full potential.”

She also praised the wider community, adding: “The strongman and strongwoman community continues to bring people together, helping one another develop, improve and thrive, and I am proud to be a part of it.”

82 years on from the Normandy landings, we reflect on the thousands of British, Commonwealth and Allied forces who lost their lives for the liberation of Western Europe.

Outstanding performance from the DST Hockey Team! 🏑

The DST hockey team delivered an exceptional performance at the RLC Bari Cup Hockey Competition, securing the Agility Shield with determination, teamwork, and impressive skill throughout.

Made up almost entirely of novice players, including 4 ITTTs and 5 PS, and with just one Corps-level player in the squad, the team rose brilliantly to the challenge. Playing with confidence, cohesion, and real grit, they demonstrated just how much potential they have on the field. Every player made a vital contribution, showing true commitment and resilience in every match.

A special mention goes to WO2 (RQMS) Black, whose hard work behind the scenes, particularly in coordinating administration and bringing the team together played a key role in making this success possible.

💪 A fantastic achievement all round - well done team!
