Happy Libraries Change Lives Week!🥳
Libraries Change Lives is our annual chance to celebrate the impact of libraries, where we can showcase the value of our service - both locally and nationally.
The theme for 2026 is Libraries Change Lives through literacy and reading, supported by the National Year of Reading. This week, we want to inspire people to visit their local library and experience just how life-changing our service can be. We've asked members of staff from teams across our service to tell us a book that has changed their life, with the hopes that it might help someone reading this, too.
Librarian, Jess McCarthy, has chosen 'The Positive Birth Book' by Milli Hill. Here's what she had to say:
" The Positive Birth Book by Milli Hill transformed the way I approached birth and myself. It empowered me to take control, trust my instincts, and confidently advocate for the experience I deserved. Its lessons still stay with me every day, shaping who I am as a mum, a woman, and a person."
Tell us in the comments below if there's a book that changed your life! The Positive Birth Book is available in our library catalogue here👉 https://orlo.uk/PositiveBirthBook_imBG9
