It was a pleasure to listen to the Yorkshire dialect earlier today at the annual East Riding Dialect Society's Yorkshire Day Event, very pleased to see Yorkshire Curd tarts at the interval too!

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for the Lockington train crash memorial. It was touching to see so many people come together to remember those who lost their lives and those who were affected by the tragic accident.

Thank you to the Driffield Agricultural Society for inviting us to the 150th Driffield Show on Wednesday. We had a great time and it was nice to meet many of your members and hear about the ways you support our community and education. It was also fantastic to see many local businesses, local produce and of course the towering tractors!

Thank you to Driffield Male Voice Choir for inviting us to their East Meets West concert at Beverley Minster on Saturday.

We always love hearing you sing, and you were absolutely amazing once again with Steeton MVC and Riverside Brass. We're very much looking forward to hearing you again in September.

I had the pleasure of being invited back to Riverhead Hall Care Home's Annual Pride Event. Last year, it was one of the first events I attended as Deputy Mayor and it was certainly a highlight.

On Sunday, Donna, Nicky, the staff, the residents and of course Ce Ce Monsoon raised the bar once again - with lots of smiles, laughter and touching moments.

Thank you to the Friends of Driffield CE Infant School for inviting me to their Summer Fair last Friday.

It was great to see such an excellent turnout and you've raised a fantastic amount. Well deserved - the school cake was very tasty!

Our Friends of School Summer fair raised a fantastic £1756! Thank you to everyone who came along to support us.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Driffield Leisure Centre, Sokells, Kiplingcotes Furniture, Co-zee Cafe, Luminosity Designs, Sewerby Hall and Gardens, The Nail and Beauty Secret, The Potteries at Hornsea Village, Honeysuckle Farm, Marco Polos restaurant, Drury Sports, Thomas the Bakers and Gallipots of Driffield for their generous donations and raffle prizes.

The money raised will be spent on providing activities in school and helping to subsidise school trips.

It was great to celebrate two milestones at Driffield Market last Thursday: the 5th anniversary of the Discover Driffield Loyalty Card Scheme and 25 years since the market returned to Market Place.

Thank you to my fellow councillors for volunteering your time, the businesses for supporting and Michelle, our Town Development Officer, for helping our town centre thrive.

Yesterday afternoon we had the honour of being part of the procession from the Hull Guildhall to the Hull Minster for the Lord Mayor of Hull's Civic Service.

After the service, we then paraded back to the Guildhall for afternoon tea and a great catch up with the Mayors and other distinguished guests.
