🦏🔈Nepal Floods Fundraiser🇳🇵🦏

Although we are not a Gurkha regiment, we have a close affinity with Commander The Queen's Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment and the wider The Gurkha Brigade Association. That relationship reflects a shared bond of service, friendship and mutual respect.

The recent devastating floods in Nepal will have a significant impact on Gurkha veterans, their families and communities, damaging homes, livelihoods and vital infrastructure. For many already reliant on support, the effects will be particularly severe.

The Gurkha Welfare Trust provides essential financial, medical and community aid, enabling Gurkha veterans, their widows and their families to live with dignity.

Our connection to the Brigade of Gurkhas makes this a cause particularly close to us. This is an opportunity to stand alongside our Gurkha friends and colleagues and support those who have given so much in service.

🦏🏎️ Regimental Sports update!🏆🦏

Our Tug of War Team are in Scotland, training hard ahead of the Braemar Games, where they’ll compete in front of Their Majesties The King and Queen.

Meanwhile, our SSI, SSgt Townsend, is representing the Army at the British Armed Forces Karting Championship. 🏎️

All while striking the balance with some well-earned leave.

All pupils at schools in England whose families are families receiving Universal Credit are now entitled to have free school meals.
The change is in place for the start of the 2026 – 2027 school year and covers state and free schools, academies, state-funded nursery schools and non-maintained special schools.
It comes after the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act passed into law earlier this year, including measures like the roll out of free breakfast clubs in all primary schools in England.
All Universal Credit recipients will be eligible for free school meals, but parents will still need to apply.
In April the two-child benefit cap was lifted, which had prevented parents from claiming universal credit or tax credits for more than their first two children.

Over the summer, the Regiment was proud to see our Adjutant take to the world-famous Edinburgh Castle Esplanade, supporting 154 Scottish Regiment RLC as a bagpiper at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
