6 week Samba Drumming course Starting Thursday 5th June, 7 - 8pm at Pilton Parish Hall. The course culminates in a performance with Samba Baia leading Pilton Green Man Festival procession through Barnstaple. No prior experience required. Cost is £30 for the course. Dear all, this is to inform everyone that Community Arts Network cic (CAN Play) has now closed down. I would like to thank everyone for all their support over the past 28 years that we have been providing services in North Devon. It has been a real pleasure and a delight to have worked with so many children and families. Thank you all for the wonderful times we have shared and the happy memories.

With all children returning to school on Monday 8th March the After School clubs at the following schools will be open.

Northam St Georges

Westcroft - After School and Breakfast. Westcroft children only.

Pilton Bluecoat - Years 3 and above only.

The portal is now open for parents to book the places they require. Please be aware that the club will spend as much time as possible playing outside on school playgrounds, however when inside the premises, children will be encouraged to wear mask to help limit the spread and maintain infection controls.

New registration are also being accepted for all clubs. Forms can be downloaded from our web site www.canplay.co.uk/downloads

Bideford- East The Water Community Food Pantry

We aim to provide food and hygiene item free to families in need and who are struggling financially, especially during this COVID 19 pandemic. Our focus is very much on relieving food poverty in children. We will provide what we can primarily at times when families are under extra pressures during school holidays such as Christmas, Easter and Of course during school closures.

If anyone is struggling and needs help please message me, in the strictest confidence, and we can arrange a food package for you.

Any donations are much appreciated as well.

We are based on the land adjacent to 17 Barton Tors. We are open Monday - Friday from 10 until 2. If you need help out if these hours please feel free to message me and we will see what we can do.

Why aren’t all schools doing this not just the private and elite schools. Two local schools isolating year groups and parents either can’t get tests or have to travel 100,s of miles with sick children. Aren’t we lucky to have a government that keeps talking about levelling up society and shows real concern about children’s welfare to get them all back in school.
