Sad to see an increase in reported road accidents/injuries.
Numbers killed or seriously injured in crashes in Britain are the highest since 2018, Government statistics have revealed.
Yesterday (28 May), the Department for Transport released provisional 2025 road casualty statistics for Britain, showing that 4% more people were killed or seriously injured in crashes than in 2024.
While estimates put the number of people who died on Britain’s roads in 2025 at 1,556 – 3% fewer than in 2024 – those sustaining serious injuries increased by 4% from 27, 262 to 28,255 in that time.
In total, 29,911 people were killed or seriously injured in crashes in 2025, some 1,047 more than the previous year – an increase of 4%.
