No 10 BUS SERVICE TO BILLERICAY

The service has now been running for a week and we would appreciate feedback from anybody who has used or tried to use it. Please tell us – good or bad

There have been roadworks issues at the Wickford end that have meant it sometimes arrived late.

The promised publicity material to be delivered to every household has been delayed due to holidays would you believe but we are hoping it will be arrive over the next couple of weeks once it has been approved.

As mentioned previously by Nicola, a resident, Essex County Council have confirmed that the Children (5 to 15) travel free on buses this August scheme will operate on all buses in the area and starts on Monday. To travel for free, children simply need to board the bus and ask the driver for a child's ticket to their destination. This ensures they are accounted for financially as well as for safety.

South Hanningfield Tye Play Area Announcement

Please can we make all residents aware the play equipment at South Hanningfield Tye will be out of use this Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th July 2026 for maintenance work.

🚌The Parish Council are pleased to announce the new 10A Bus Route from Ramsden Heath to Billericay will commence service from Monday 27th July 2026. 🚌

🕑Timetable:
The service will run Monday to Friday
The timetable will begin at 9:12am from Ramsden Heath, and the last return bus from Billericay High Street will be at 14:02. (Three services will run each way)

🎟Fares
The single fare cap for adults is £3. Bus passes will be valid on this service.
Children and U19's fare are still to be confirmed, we are trying to negotiate a reduced rate.

Funding has been granted for this service for 12 months. The possibility of extending the timetable and the continuation of the service will be based on the level of usage. Use it or lose it!

Huge thanks go to Cllr Peter Thurgood for all his hard work and effort in securing this service for the Parish.

⚠️ IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
PLEASE AVOID SOUTH HANNINGFIELD TYE GREEN ⚠️
Residents are advised not to enter South Hanningfield Tye Green until further notice, as several oak trees in the area have been found to be affected by Oak Processionary Moth (OPM) caterpillars.
The caterpillars and their nests can pose a risk to both people and animals. Their tiny hairs can cause:
• Itchy skin rashes
• Eye and throat irritation
• Breathing difficulties in some cases
Please help keep yourself, your family and your pets safe by following this advice:
🚫 Do not touch the caterpillars or their nests.
🚫 Keep children and dogs away from the affected area.
🚫 Do not attempt to remove or disturb the nests yourself.
🐕 Remember that caterpillars and nests may also be on the ground, where pets can come into contact with them.
The affected trees are being managed by the appropriate authorities, and further updates will be provided as soon as they are available.
