We are delighted to welcome Steve Tomlin to Billericay Town Council.

Steve was co-opted to represent South West Ward in July 2026. Having lived in Billericay for 30 years, he cares deeply about the town and its residents. Steve has decided that now is the right time to give something back to the community, and we look forward to the contribution he will make as a Town Councillor.

Large Scale Development in Billericay x 2 - REFUSED
It will be of some relief to Billericay residents that the members of Basildon Planning Committee voted overwhelmingly on Wednesday 28th July to refuse planning permission for proposed large scale housing developments in Laindon Road and Greens Farm Lane.
This is a welcome recognition by Basildon councillors of the vital importance of maintaining and protecting Billericay's Green Belt.
Impassioned and comprehensive objections were presented by local residents and also the Town Council's Planning Chair, Chris May.

Investing in Billericay's Young People!

We're proud to be funding a dedicated Bar N Bus Youth Worker to support young people across Billericay.

Since joining in June, Bea has been building relationships with local schools and community groups while delivering youth work across the town. Exciting plans include school mentoring, outreach sessions, a Youth Café drop-in, and a new partnership with Human Kind Café to provide free meal vouchers for young people in need.

Look out for the blue bus or Bea around areas of the town. i.e. Lake Meadows, Hannikins Farm, Festival Gardens, Sun Corner.

This is just the beginning, and we're excited to see the positive impact Bar N Bus will make in our community.

UPDATE: MOTORCYCLE HAS BEEN RECOVERED.

Abandoned Motorcycle – Chantry Centre

A Motorcycle has been left outside the main entrance of the Chantry Centre since approximately 7:30pm on Sunday 12th July.

We have checked the registration, and the bike is fully taxed and has a valid MOT.

Essex Police have been notified and responded with "The Police have no interest in the abandoned bike"

If anyone knows anything about this, or could assist with removal, please get in touch.

If you have friends, family, or neighbours who would enjoy a friendly social afternoon, please help us spread the word. Our club offers great company, entertainment, and refreshments in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

This Sunday, the Billericay Youth Town Council will be hosting a stall at Summer Fest!
They will be promoting The Essex Youth Safety Project, so come along, say hello, and learn more about the work they're doing to help keep young people safe.
Don't forget to have a go at the free Lucky Dip!!

Chantry Centre Lift Refurbishment Complete
Town Council Chairman Jim Devlin was the first to travel in the newly refurbished Chantry Centre lift this morning. Thanks to Paul and the team at Future Lift Services for all their hard work in getting the lift running smoothly, especially as the lift plant room was rather warm this week! 🥵
