🎒 Back to School – A Little Support for Parents

We know that the first week back can feel like a big step for some children (and parents too!). 💙

The image below shares some simple, gentle ideas that may help your child feel more settled, confident and ready for the new school year — from talking positively about coming back, to re-establishing routines, offering little choices and keeping those goodbye moments warm and reassuring.

But remember, there’s no perfect way to do it. Every child is different, and what works for one family may not work for another.

The most important thing is connection over perfection.
A listening ear, a calm response and reassurance that they can do it can make such a difference.

Have a look through the tips and simply take from them whatever feels helpful for your family.

We’re looking forward to welcoming all of our children back and helping them have a happy, positive start to the new school year. 💙

We are super proud of our pupils making their community a safer place.

Thank you to all who sponsored the children.

Children at Roseberry Primary School, part of Extol Academy Trust, in Billingham have shown incredible community spirit after completing a sponsored run to raise funds for a life-saving bleed kit to be installed within their local area.
Pupils took on the challenge of running an amazing 26 laps of the school field, putting their energy, determination and compassion into supporting the Connor Brown Trust. Through their sponsorship efforts, the children successfully raised the funds needed to purchase a bleed kit, which will provide vital emergency equipment for their community.
The campaign is inspired by the work of Tanya Brown MBE, Founder and CEO of the Connor Brown Trust, and her husband Simon who tragically lost their son Connor following a knife attack in 2019 in Sunderland.
Since that heartbreaking day, Tanya and has worked tirelessly to campaign for bleed kits to be made available across the North East, helping communities access vital equipment that could save lives in an emergency.
The children at Roseberry Primary are incredibly proud that their fundraising will help bring a bleed kit to their own community, knowing that their efforts could make a real difference in the future.
Tanya Brown MBE praised the pupils for their commitment and the impact of their fundraising: “What makes today even more special is knowing that these kits are there because of the children's own hard work and determination in raising the funds. They haven't just raised money — they’ve made a genuine difference to their school and wider community. Every single one of them should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved."

FUNDRAISING SUPERSTARS

We are so incredibly proud of the children's efforts during the sponsored fun run and are pleased to announce that our Bleed Kit has now been installed on the KS2 fence by the entrance to school.

We also have an additional Bleed Kit in school that will be accessible during school hours.

Tanya Brown MBE and CEO of The Connor Brown Trust came in and thanked the children for their efforts she said: "What makes today even more special is knowing that these kits are there because of the children's own hard work and determination in raising the funds. They haven't just raised money—they've made a genuine difference to their school and wider community. Every single one of them should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved. They have created a lasting legacy that could one day help save a life, and that is something truly remarkable."

A HUGE thank you to parents and carers for supporting this worthwhile cause.

🌟What a magical night for our Year 1 and Year 2 sleepover! ✨

The children had an unforgettable evening filled with laughter, excitement and plenty of special memories. From bouncing around on the bouncy castle, singing their hearts out at karaoke, enjoying delicious cookies, to snuggling up with a cosy hot chocolate before bedtime — every moment was full of joy!

We are incredibly proud of how fantastic the children were. They showed such kindness, enthusiasm and bravery throughout the whole experience. For many, this was a big step away from home, and seeing them support each other, try new things and grow in confidence was truly wonderful.

Experiences like this are so important for developing children’s social skills, resilience and independence. They learn how to work together, solve little challenges, build friendships and discover that they are capable of more than they sometimes realise.

A big thankyou to all staff who gave up their Friday night to stay.

A huge well done to all of our amazing Year 1 and Year 2 children — you were brilliant! 🌟

We hope you treasure the memories of this very special night for a long time to come. 💙

Our first Sports Day of the week looked a little different today as we made some changes to keep everyone safe and comfortable in the incredible heat - that didn't stop our pupils from having an incredible time.

A HUGE thank you to all the parents and families who came along to support and cheer on our pupils.

A very special THANK YOU also goes to Ice Creams for kindly offering ice creams to our pupils throughout the week. They were very much appreciated and provided the perfect treat in today's sunshine.

We can't wait for the rest of our Sports Days this week.
