THANK YOU ‼️‼️

We’ve been overwhelmed with the support we’ve had from our partner agencies and members of the public over the last few days.

It’s clear that lots of you have taken on board our requests to not use disposable BBQs, to not have garden fires, and to be considerate with rubbish and ci******es.

However, as the saying goes, it’s not over yet! We’re expecting another hot day tomorrow so please keep sharing our messages and doing your bit to reduce the risk of wildfires in our beautiful county.

Thanks to our amazing staff who have been working hard yet again today. Our brilliant firefighters on the frontline. Our control room operators who coordinate our response. And our enabling service teams who work in the background to make everything tick.

Our thoughts are with fire service colleagues across the country who are continuing to deal with some large, protracted and simply devastating wildfires.

It's been a very busy day for the crew at Bingham and Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service please follow this advice ...

MAJOR INCIDENT ‼️

As of 1:30 pm, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service has declared a major incident. This relates to the cumulative impact of multiple incidents placing significant pressure on operational resources, rather than a single incident in isolation.

The Service is currently operating with very limited resources and reduced pump availability. As a result, response times to any further incidents are likely to be delayed.

Still call 999 in an emergency.

We would like to remind people not to light any fires, such as campfires or BBQs, and to take extra care when disposing of ci******es due to the incredibly dry conditions, as a spark could spread quickly.

Please visit our website www.notts-fire.gov.uk for further updates and safety advice.

FIRE - Cropwell Butler

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service is currently dealing with a haystack fire in a field near Saxondale Island. This is a large fire; however, it is currently under control and is being managed by the Fire and Rescue Service.

Nottinghamshire Police is currently investigating the incident as suspected arson. We ask that members of the public do not attend the location and allow the emergency services to continue managing the fire safely.

If you were in the area of the Fosse Way between Cropwell Butler and Saxondale Island, near Bingham, and have any information that may assist the investigation, please contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 and quote incident reference 0716_24072026.
