We’ve received several calls about missed paper/cardboard collections - please see the latest update from TDC ….

If your paper/cardboard collection has been missed please take it back in and put it out again on the next date that collection is due.

Due to a driver shortage, paper and card collections are delayed. We have prioritised general and food waste.

Was your paper collection missed? Please keep it until your next scheduled collection.

There is no need to report this to us.

We are sorry for the disruption.

Pride in Place Impact Fund

Thanet District Council have announced the outcome of grants to be awarded to Town and Parish Councils following funding received from Central Government under their ‘Pride in Place Impact Fund’ (details below).

Watch out for further details of Birchington Parish Council’s project in due course.

A 89 year old man reported missing from on the morning on Tuesday 11 August 2026 has been safely located. Thank you for sharing our previous appeal.

LAST CALL - Birchington Active Leisure Week starts tomorrow …. there are places left for some activities for all ages and in tomorrow’s gym session (10am-2pm) there are spaces left for 15/16 year olds who’d like to attend.
This is all FREE but participants must register by 5pm this evening.
