Tomorrow, Saturday, 27 June 2026, is Armed Forces Day. The Parish Council would like to take this opportunity to thank the Birchington village Flagmaster, John Lewis, for raising the Armed Forces flags in The Square and on Dog Acre every day this week.

Paper Collections

The Parish Council have received a large number of telephone calls this week from residents asking why their paper had not been collected.
Please note that recycling and refuse collections are the responsibility of Thanet District Council (TDC) and not the Parish Council .
TDC have contacted the Parish Council this afternoon to say that they had issues with vehicles and staff on Monday and Tuesday and had to prioritise refuse and recycling over paper on those two days.
They are now back to full capacity and are in the process of catching up with paper that has not been collected since Monday.

The following public consultation leaflet is regarding a proposal to develop land west of Allen Avenue, Birchington and to build up to 80 properties on the land.
