Andy from Walker Heights surprised the whole team by writing personalised limericks for every staff member on shift — and honestly, they made our day! 😄✨

Here’s a look at the fun, the laughter, and the absolute poetic chaos that unfolded:

🌙 Chisom – Our Night Owl
Chisom is our man on nights,
He starts his work with the streetlights.
In the morning, he welcomes you in,
He is valued through thick and thin,
At Walker Heights, he shines so bright! 🌟

🌞 Emeka – Daytime Dynamo
Emeka is our chap on days,
For all his work, he deserves a raise.
He fills the room with laughter,
From the floor to the rafter,
We hope he’s with our team always. 😄👏

💁‍♀️ Kirsten – The Can Do Queen
Next comes a lady named Kirsten,
It’s guaranteed she will not be first in.
She’s been here just a year,
Gone brunette to fair,
But her “can do” spirit is bursting! 💪✨

👩‍💼 Sarah – The Manager with Magic
When it comes to managers, there’s none fairer,
Than the one we call Sarah.
Every hour of the day,
She toils away,
Though she’d rather sip champagne on the Riviera! 🍾🌴

😂 John – The Jokester
To follow, we have John,
As a friend and colleague, he’s second to none.
He’s a caring bloke,
Quick with a joke,
But by 4 pm… he’s gone! 🏃‍♂️💨

🤪 Frank – The Prank King
Next on the team, we have Frank,
Who is first in line to prank?
He’s everyone’s first choice,
With a caring voice,
And you can take that all to the bank! 💸😆

🍳 Doug – The Kitchen Wizard
One of the best seniors we have is Doug,
With all our problems we love to bug.
In the kitchen, he’s a whiz,
Because once he was in the biz,
And on a night out, many a beer he can chug! 🍺🔥

🌈 Izzy – The Colourful Comet
Now we come to Izzy,
She likes to keep herself busy.
She’s always running here and there,
As colourful as her hair,
And far too young to know Thin Lizzy. 🎨💖

🧀 And finally… Andy – The Poet Himself
And last, we have Andy — that’s me,
Who can’t use the stairs cause of his knee.
I’m a lover of food,
And jokes that are rude,
And will go to town on a wheel of brie. 🧀😂

💚 A huge thank you to Andy for bringing smiles, laughter, and limerick magic to Walker Heights today!

🌿💚 Mental Health Awareness Week Highlights 💚🌿

What an incredible week it has been celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week with the amazing individuals and team from Heathfield Gardens!

Each day was filled with meaningful activities designed to promote wellbeing, connection, and positivity—and the impact has been truly inspiring.

Throughout the week, everyone got involved in a variety of engaging activities:

🌳 A refreshing nature walk, giving us time to relax, connect with nature, and enjoy the outdoors
💚 A vibrant Wear It Green Day, where we showed solidarity and raised awareness in style
🎨 A creative arts and crafts day, full of colour, expression, and imagination
☕ A lovely tea party, bringing people together for conversation, laughter, and connection
🎉 A fun day packed with smiles, games, and shared joy
📚 Puzzle and book club day, encouraging focus, calm, and shared discussion
🎶 An exciting instrument day, exploring music and the power it has to lift our mood

Weeks like this are so important. Taking time to focus on mental health helps remind us that wellbeing matters every single day. These activities create opportunities to connect, build confidence, reduce stress, and simply enjoy being present with one another.

We are so proud of everyone who took part and embraced each day with enthusiasm and positivity.

Together, we are building a supportive, understanding environment where mental health is prioritised and everyone feels valued 💚

Andrew, who lives at Paxton House, has been building confidence in trying new activities with the support of staff who understand the importance of routine and giving him time to process choices.

After gentle encouragement and plenty of time to consider, Andrew made the decision to take part in the household food shop.

On the day, he showed great enthusiasm—getting ready early, eager to go, and happily heading into the store.

During the visit, Andrew engaged fully in the activity, choosing items, weighing products, and helping to pack the shopping.

He remained relaxed and positive throughout, showing no signs of anxiety and clearly enjoying the experience 😊

This was a fantastic achievement for Andrew, as he stepped outside of his usual routine and embraced something new.

It highlights how a person-centred approach, with time, patience, and respect for choice, can support confidence, independence, and a sense of control 💙
