One of the people we support at Sommerville recently celebrated their birthday in the perfect way, by choosing to head out for a Chinese meal and inviting their friends from their sister service Elm Road to join the celebrations! 🎉

It was wonderful to see the friendships that have grown across both services. Everyone enjoyed spending quality time together – strengthening friendships and creating more meaningful connections across both services. There was lots of delicious food consumed and, of course, birthday cake! 🎂🥢

A very happy birthday from all of us, and here's to many more fantastic memories together! 💙🧡

🦁🐘 A Roarsome Day Out at Blackpool Zoo! 🐒🦒

The people we support at Sommerville and Elm Road recently came together for a fantastic day out at Blackpool Zoo, creating opportunities to socialise, build friendships, and make lasting memories.

Everyone enjoyed exploring the zoo, seeing a variety of amazing animals, taking part in activities, and spending quality time together. Of course, no day out would be complete without some delicious treats along the way! 🍦🍔

The trip provided a wonderful chance for people from both services to connect, strengthen existing friendships, and develop new relationships in a fun and inclusive environment. It was fantastic to see so many smiles throughout the day and hear everyone talking about what a fabulous time they had.

🌟 Individuals increased their social connections, built confidence through community participation, enjoyed meaningful experiences with others, and created positive memories that will be treasured for years to come.

A huge thank you to both staff teams for organising such a successful trip and bringing everyone together for a truly special day. 💙🧡

💈✨ Looking and Feeling Good at Sommerville! ✨💈

The people we support at Sommerville recently enjoyed a pamper day, heading out to their local barbers for fresh trims and shaves.

More than just a haircut, the outing gave everyone the opportunity to support one another, spend time in their local community, and take pride in their appearance. Self-care is an important part of wellbeing, helping to boost confidence, independence, and self-esteem.

🌟 Individuals enjoyed positive social experiences, strengthened community connections, and took time to focus on their own wellbeing through self-care and personal grooming.

A great day out that left everyone looking sharp, feeling refreshed, and ready to take on the day! 😊👏

💚 World Mental Health Day at Columba 💚

We proudly celebrated World Mental Health Day at our Columba office, bringing together people from across local services, alongside colleagues from our Admin, Finance and Workforce Development teams. ✨

A special highlight of the day was seeing Sarah, one of the individuals we support, confidently lead a Craft Corner activity. 🎨 By taking on a leadership role, Sarah was able to share her skills, build confidence and help create an inclusive environment where everyone felt welcome to get creative.

Throughout the day, people shared their lived experiences, took part in games, made new connections and supported one another in open and meaningful conversations about mental health. Together, participants created a powerful Wall of Positivity, filled with messages of encouragement, hope and kindness. 👏

This event was a wonderful example of the positive outcomes that can be achieved when people are empowered to lead, share their experiences and connect with their community by discussing and recognising the importance of talking about mental health. 💚

The day helped promote wellbeing, reduce stigma around mental health and strengthen relationships across services, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of positivity and belonging. ✨
