Pies with Purpose!

Our Chester projects regularly work in partnership with Soul Kitchen Chester, a fantastic local charity providing food and support to people experiencing homelessness.

Our residents really enjoy take part in their Soul in a Bowl cooking sessions, gaining valuable skills and qualifications. The success of Soul in a Bowl has led to Second Bite, an initiative that has spent the past year producing packaged shortbread to raise funds across Cheshire. Now, they’ve taken things one step further… pies! 🥧

Second Bite has been commissioned to produce pies for the Tranmere Supporters Club, giving our residents the chance to develop their skills and gain real experience. The first game of the season was a huge success, the pies sold out! If you’re heading to a Tranmere Rovers fixture this season, why not grab a pie and support Pies with Purpose?

Soul Kitchen does so much for our residents, and we’re proud to support them too. ❤️

Multi-Agency Outreach in Northwich.

Our Forum Outreach Team recently carried out a targeted outreach patrol in Northwich alongside Northwich Police, Community Safety Officers and colleagues from Cheshire West and Chester Council.

The team engaged with people experiencing rough sleeping, offering advice and support, exploring accommodation options and making sure people know where they can access essential services.

With high temperatures across the UK, the team also handed out water and sun cream, while offering advice on staying cool, seeking shade and keeping hydrated.

Working together, we can help ensure people know that support is available and where to find it. 💙

We’re so proud of our Links resident for successfully completing her Nail Art Course with The King’s Trust! It’s great to see her developing new skills in an area she enjoys and taking steps towards her future career.

At Forum, we support our residents to find training opportunities in areas that interest them, helping them build the skills, confidence and experience they need to work towards employment.

Last week, Lindsey, our Chester Accommodation and Outreach Manager, joined Paul Fielder, City Centre Manager for Communities and Engagement, to visit local businesses across Chester.

They shared information on reporting rough sleeping, the role of the Outreach Team, and local organisations that can offer food, support and essential services.

Working together to help connect people sleeping rough with the right support.

Huge thank you to our amazing volunteer, Janet, who visits The Beacon every week to spend time with our residents. ❤️

Last week, Janet taught residents how to make potato and leek soup from scratch. Residents got involved in preparing the ingredients, making the soup together, and then sitting down to enjoy the meal they had created.

We’re incredibly grateful for Janet’s continued support, kindness and commitment. Volunteers like Janet bring so much to Forum, helping to create positive experiences, build connections and support our residents.

Would you like to make a difference like Janet? We’re always looking for more wonderful volunteers to join our team. Get in touch to find out more about volunteering with us.

The staff at The Quays have been busy transforming the garden and showing residents how to grow their own tomatoes. 🍅 After months of watering and looking after the plants, they're now ready to harvest. Well done all!

Brilliant day out in Formby! 🌿🐿️

Our residents enjoyed a walk through the forest, climbed the sand dunes, and relaxed on the beach with an ice cream before finishing the day with a paddle in the Mersey.

One resident shared, "I saw a red squirrel! I made some new friends along the way and enjoyed a lovely forest walk."

A special thank you to resident Jack for capturing the day's beautiful wildlife and scenery through his camera lens. 📸

Our Outreach Team, who support rough sleepers across Cheshire West and Chester, were invited to Hickories last Friday for a complimentary breakfast. It was a great opportunity for staff working on the ground in the city to meet, discuss collaboration, and share challenges so we can continue supporting each other.
