Our mission is to provide resources which encourage and inspire homeless people to transform their lives.

Wirral Ark is a charity that supports hundreds of people each year who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Through our accommodation, professional services, and a compassionate ear, we help them achieve good and real outcomes for themselves.

Do you recognise the man on the left? No, we almost didn't either without his trademark speedos and furry hat!

Luckily Rachel and Lisa from our fundraising team did and grabbed this fantastic photo with Speedomick while they were out promoting our Ted Without a Bed book yesterday.

We could all learn a thing or two from Mick who has been open with his own mental health struggles in the past. He is particularly inspiring when he says that "hope lives in the darkest places", something we aim to be here at Wirral Ark.

Ted is coming to West Kirby library!

Bring your children along to West Kirby library to meet Ted on Tuesday 27th October at 2.30pm. Ted will be popping along to read the book to the children and join in some fun activities after.

No need to book, just turn up to the library and we will see you there!

One week on from her triumph at Chester Marathon, we 'd like to say a huge thank you to Amanda for raising money for homeless people here on the Wirral.

Amanda had a great result last weekend, taking 15 minutes off her marathon personal best! She completed the Chester Triple which consists of a 10k, half marathon and marathon, all this year.

She and her brother have also raised over £1,000 for Wirral Ark, money which is gratefully received and will go to providing help and support to homeless people to help them rebuild their lives.

Well done, Amanda, you are very inspiring. 👏😍

Ted has been busy getting out and about around the Wirral!

If you are in the Rock Ferry area, then swing by Indigo to see him in their reading corner! It's such an amazing community space with a cafe (with great reviews!) and community spaces for hire. There's so much going on that Ted will love it.

Thanks to Indigo for helping to spread the word about our book and doing great things for the local community. 😃

We're so pleased that Ted Without a Bed is already having such a positive impact in primary schools.

Woodlands Primary School, not only shared Ted's story with the children, they donated all this as part of their harvest festival!

We're so glad that people are getting behind our message of showing kindness and compassion towards others and understanding that homelessness can happen to anyone.

A very BIG thank to Woodlands for their kind donation and for showing homeless people in the Wirral there are people who care.

Christmas Jumpers! Arky doesn't want to feel left out this year so we'd love you to design one for him!

So we are calling on all primary schools again to get involved in our Christmas competition to help design a Christmas jumper for Arky. The winner will get to see their design come to life as the winning designs will be made into jumpers for Arky and for themselves 🤩

🏠 World Homeless Day

Behind every statistic is a person; someone with their own story, circumstances, hopes and plans for the future.

The latest official figures estimate that 4,793 people were sleeping rough on a single night in England in autumn 2025. That's a 3% increase on the previous year, and the fourth consecutive annual increase.

Rough sleeping is just one form of homelessness. Many people experiencing homelessness are staying in temporary accommodation, hostels, shelters or other insecure situations, meaning the true scale of homelessness is much greater.

At Wirral Ark, we see every day that having somewhere safe to stay can be the starting point for a more secure future.

Our accommodation provides more than a roof. We support people with their health and wellbeing, help them develop skills, access opportunities and, most importantly, work towards a future where they can live independently.

This World Homeless Day, we're thinking about everyone who has experienced homelessness and working towards a future where everyone has a safe place to call home.

Good luck to one of our amazing fundraisers, Amanda, as she takes on Chester Marathon this weekend!

Here she is jumping for joy that she has finished all her training! She has put in weeks of training: long runs, early mornings, and juggling work with all the training. It's no easy feat.

Huge thanks to Amanda for taking on the mighty marathon challenge to support homeless people here on the Wirral; we are eternally grateful.
