Wirral Ark

Wirral Ark Our mission is to provide resources which encourage and inspire homeless people to transform their lives.

Wirral Ark is a charity that supports hundreds of people each year who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Through our accommodation, professional services, and a compassionate ear, we help them achieve good and real outcomes for themselves.

This Refugee Week, Wirral Ark stands with refugees and people seeking sanctuary. ๐Ÿ’š

Many refugees face enormous challenges. They are fleeing conflict and persecution to rebuilding their lives in unfamiliar communities. For some, these experiences can also increase the risk of homelessness, poverty and isolation.

Refugee Week is a chance to celebrate compassion, resilience and the positive contributions refugees bring to society, while also recognising the importance of support, understanding and inclusion.

At Wirral Ark, we believe everyone deserves safety, dignity and the opportunity to feel part of a community. Together, we can help create a community where everyone feels welcome.

Do we know anyone with a head for heights? Or perhaps you would like to get out of your comfort zone and test yourself! All while doing good for Wirral Ark...

We're pleased to team up with Leasowe Lighthouse to offer two places at their abseil on 12th September 2026 in order to raise money for much needed funds to support people experiencing homelessness across Wirral.

All we ask is you raise a minimum of ยฃ50 but we'd love it if you can raise a bit more.

Please note that participants will need a reasonable level of fitness, as you'll need to climb 130 steps to the top of the lighthouse to reach the abseil platform.

We have 2 spaces available so register your interest today and get ready to see Wirral from a whole new perspective! Contact us by email on [email protected] to secure your place.

A swarm of Teds have descended on Morrisons New Brighton this morning! Thanks to the Morrisons New Brighton Community Champion for having us.

Great to be back in this friendly store, talking to the customers about Wirral Ark and all we do to support the homeless in our region! Come on down and say hello to us ( and Ted!)

Imagine arriving somewhere with very little to call your own. What would make the biggest difference in your first few days?

At Wirral Ark, the simple things matter. A hot meal. A warm drink. Breakfast in the morning. Something quick and easy when life feels overwhelming.

We're putting together starter packs of essentials for our residents and we'd love your help.

If you're heading to the supermarket this week, could you add one extra item to your basket?

๐Ÿฅซ Tinned meals โ€“ beans, soups, meatballs, ravioli and similar items

๐Ÿœ Pot Noodles, Super Noodles and Cup-a-Soups

๐ŸŒญ Tinned hot dogs

โ˜• Budget teabags and small jars of coffee

๐Ÿฅฃ Cereal

๐Ÿด Cutlery - stainless steel cutlery please (not plastic)

Every donation, no matter how small, helps us ensure that nobody who comes through our doors goes without the basics.

Thank you for helping us keep our cupboards stocked and our community supported. ๐Ÿ’š

I recently had the privilege of visiting Launchpad Veterans, a fantastic charity supporting homeless veterans, and Iโ€™m still feeling incredibly inspired by the experience.
From the moment I arrived, it was clear just how much care and dedication goes into supporting their residents. Launchpad UK offers such a wide range of opportunities that truly help individuals rebuild their lives โ€” from gardening projects that promote wellbeing, to employment training and skills development, and even fishing trips that give residents a chance to relax, connect, and enjoy some much-needed downtime.
What really stood out to me was the holistic support they provide. Itโ€™s not just about accommodation โ€” itโ€™s about creating a community, restoring confidence, and helping people move forward with purpose.
A huge thank you to Jim for inviting me and taking the time to show me around. It was an eye-opening visit and Iโ€™ve come away feeling genuinely inspired by the incredible work being done.
Keep up the amazing work, Launchpad Veteransโ€” you are making a real difference. ๐Ÿ’™

Looking ahead to July! We'll be celebrating Teddy Bears Picnic Day on 10th July 2026. ๐Ÿป

We are looking for primary schools to take part and make it another successful event! We had a great response last year.

All you need to do to take part is:
1. Host a Teddy Bear's picnic at your school.
2. Allow the children to bring their Teddy Bear to school for a suggested donation of ยฃ2.
3. Set up a fun picnic space at your school and play lots of fun games too.
4. Optional but we'd love it if you can share some photos of your picnic with us!

All schools that take part will be given our new Ted Without A Bed book when it is published. ๐Ÿคฉ

Please email us on [email protected] to register your interest and get involved.

Wanted: a bike for one of our residents please ๐Ÿ˜Š

We are on the look out again for a donated bike for another one of our residents. It really helps with their independence and sense of freedom.

Thanks to your kindness, one of our residents gained a bike back in February and it transformed his life and put him back on his road to recovery.

Like the last time, we are making our own enquiries into a bike for our resident but, as the appeal worked so well last time, we thought we would ask. A little more kindness could help change someone's life.

Message the page or email us on [email protected] if you can help.

Spotlight on our Waterview property.

Did you know that women experience homelessness in a different way to men? They are less likely to be rough sleepers but will be in very insecure accommodation. They are likely to be sofa surfers, staying with friends and family, perhaps staying in unsafe relationships to secure themselves some accommodation or perhaps resorting to night buses to avoid rough sleeping.

Our Waterview property is female only and houses around 5 or 6 female residents in a shared property. They have access to support from our staff to help them transition from the shared accommodation to their own accommodation in time. In the meantime, this is a safe space for them to live with a little more freedom and to help them avoid being a hidden homeless statistic. ๐Ÿ’š
