Today I found a cherry gall . It's different from an ordinary 'oak apple' as it sits on a leaf rather than on a twig. The second one is a Knopper gall and it forms inside an acorn and deforms it. There are 76 varieties of wasps which make various galls and Highbury has a good habitat for them.

Highbury Park has been recognised as especially important for its nature. This historic landscape of meadows, woodlands, hedgerows, pools and formal gardens has been designated by Birmingham City Council as as a Site of Regional and Local importance for Nature Conservation (SINC/SLINC). This is quite an accolade for a heavily used public park. Thanks to everyone who helped us achieve this.
