From 13 September, you'll no longer be able to buy a ticket on board the tram, so make sure you Buy Before You Board.

To help everyone get used to the changes, our colleagues will be out across the network over the coming weeks, offering support and guidance.

We've been shortlisted in FIVE categories at this year's Global Light Rail Awards, one of the biggest nights in our industry.

We're up for:
🚊 Operator of the Year
🛡️ Significant Safety Initiative
🌟 Team of the Year (our brilliant Learning and Development Team)
👏 Employee of the Year (Matthew Brittain, Revenue Supervisor)
✨ Rising Star (Dale Bayliss, Infrastructure Permanent Way Team Leader)

Last year we won Most Improved System, so we're hoping to build on that success!

We're transitioning to Buy Before You Board.

From Sunday 13 September, West Midlands Metro will be moving to a Buy Before You Board system.

This means customers must buy their ticket or have a valid pass before boarding the tram.

🧑Conductors will no longer be on board our trams, but our team is here to help you get ready for the change and understand how to buy your ticket before you travel.👋

It's a fantastic reflection of everything our teams do day in, day out — keeping trams running smoothly, looking after our customers and making sure the network stays safe for everyone who travels with us. 💙

Huge well done to everyone at West Midlands Metro who took part in the Great Birmingham Run 👏

It was brilliant to see colleagues out on the course, whether you were running for a cause, pushing yourselves, or simply giving it a go. The team spirit on the day was fantastic and really made the event feel special.

A big shout‑out to those raising money for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, our charity of the year. Every mile counts ❤️
