๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง RACE ACROSS THE UK! ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Weโ€™re incredibly proud to have two members of HMS Forward taking on the huge challenge that is the Race Across the UK! ๐Ÿ’ช

Lt Cdr Bill and PO Paul will be racing from Dartmouth to Inverness, chasing mystery checkpoints and challenges with nothing but public transport and their own two feet! ๐Ÿšถ๐ŸšŒ

They are taking on this challenge to raise money for the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC). The RNRMC supports serving personnel, veterans, and their families during times of need โš“๏ธโค๏ธ

If you can, please show them your support and help them reach their fundraising target. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Donate and support their challenge:

They may have swapped their Maps app for an old-fashioned Aโ€“Z, but with a team name of 'Fast Forward', thereโ€™s really only one way to do itโ€ฆ full speed ahead! โšก๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

Best of luck to you both, weโ€™ll be cheering you on every step of the way! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ช

What a way to round off the term! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ”

Our summer BBQ was a great chance to get ships company together with their families and loved ones, enjoy some good food, and celebrate another busy term๐ŸŽ‰

A huge thank you to everyone who helped organise it and to everyone who came along. We loved hosting, and it was brilliant to see so many people there!!

Ps. Does anyone know the name of 'rig' everyone seems to be dressed in?

A fantastic, 80 year old tradition! ๐ŸŽพ

Since The Championships returned after the Second World War in 1946, members of the Armed Forces have volunteered as stewards, making this the 80th year of military stewarding at Wimbledon.

Royal Navy and Royal Marines Reserve personnel were among those helping keep the tournament running smoothly! A great opportunity to represent the Service at one of the world's most iconic sporting events. โš“๐ŸŒŽ

We're incredibly proud of the Field Gun teams that competed today and especially pleased to see some familiar faces from HMS Forward contributing to the Royal Navy Reserves team, who achieved a clean, personal best run today!

Field Gun is a brilliant example of commitment, teamwork and what can be achieved bringing together Reservists from a wide range of civilian professions to train, compete and thrive as one team.

BZ to everyone involved! โš“๐Ÿ’ช

Not every day you get to meet His Majesty The King! Even fewer days do you get to share the mats with Brazilian Jiu-Jiitsu royalty. ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿฅ‹

One of our very own HMS Forward's Royal Navy Reservists, S/Lt Natalie U, recently had the privilege of attending His Majesty The King's visit in support of REORG.

The event highlighted the outstanding work of REORG, a charity dedicated to supporting the physical, mental and social wellbeing of serving military personnel, veterans and emergency services through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Itโ€™s a community built on resilience, camaraderie and purpose - values that translate far beyond the mats

As if meeting the King wasn't memorable enough, the mats were packed with some of the biggest names in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, with a seminar led by Mauricio Gomes and Roger Gracie - true legends of the sport and an incredible opportunity to learn from the very best.

A fantastic experience, an honour to represent HMS Forward, and one we'll be talking about for a long time.

Bravo Zulu! โš“๐Ÿฅ‹

Earlier this week, Birmingham City Council raised the Armed Forces Day flag to mark the start of Armed Forces Week.

Lt Chris M and PO Rob K attended on behalf of HMS Forward, joining representatives from across the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, emergency services and local councillors.

The flag-raising ceremony marked the beginning of a week dedicated to recognising and celebrating the contribution of the Armed Forces community, including those that serve, those that have served, their families, and all who support them.

Ever wondered what we get up to on a training evening at HMS Forward?

Here, some of our Reservists are making use of our ship bridge simulator, where they can practise maritime skills such as navigation and ship handling in a realistic environment.

Bonus points if you can guess what's being said in this picture...

On Thursday 22nd May, PO Kendrick and AB Rozhin of HMS Forward were honoured to represent the Royal Navy in paying their respects at the funeral of former Able Seaman communicator Horace โ€˜Hโ€™ Woodward, who sadly passed away on 15 April.

H joined the Royal Navy in 1953, and during his seven years of dedicated service was deployed to Singapore. He also served aboard the aircraft carriers HMS Eagle and HMS Theseus during the 1960s, taking part in operations in Cyprus, Suez and Aden.

Hโ€™s skill as a communicator remained evident long after his service. His family fondly recall his ability to decipher the flashing light and flag signals depicted in the film The Battle of the River Plate. When reunited with former shipmates, it was not unusual to hear them tapping out Morse code messages to one another across the table.

Above all, H was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was also an ardent supporter of Aston Villa Football Club and had a lifelong love of rock and roll music.

Standard bearers, piping party and bugler were provided by the Royal British Legion.

Fair winds and following seas.
