📢 INJUNCTION APPLICATION

🚨 Birmingham City Council has applied to the High Court for an injunction, including an interim injunction and power of arrest, relating to the unauthorised attachment of flags to street furniture and highway infrastructure.

The council's application concerns alleged highway obstruction, unauthorised attachments to council assets, interference with contractors and officers, and alleged intimidation, harassment or distress linked to these activities.

An interim injunction application hearing will take place at Birmingham Civil & Family Justice Centre, The Priory Courts, 33 Bull St, B4 6DS, at 10:30 on 8 September.

🏙️ This is the final opportunity to comment on the new Local Plan for Birmingham, which will guide development in the city up to 2044.

Here are just some of today's incredible medal winners from the Special Olympics National Summer Games at Alexander Stadium. 🏅👏

Over the past four days, we've witnessed inspiring displays of determination, talent and sportsmanship, with athletes of all abilities coming together to compete, achieve and shine. The pride, joy and sense of accomplishment on display have been truly unforgettable.

Adding to the celebrations, Maddie Down, Paralympic and Commonwealth Youth medallist, presented the athletes with their medals. Speaking about the experience, she said she felt honoured and proud to support such a fantastic event and to recognise the achievements of these remarkable competitors.

Congratulations to all the athletes who took part. Every participant should be incredibly proud of what they have accomplished. 💜✨

🌟 Meet Hooriya Nasar 🌟

At just 8 years old, Hooriya Nasar has already made her mark, winning a bronze medal in the 100m race at the Special Olympics National Summer Games as part of Bradford Keighley Skipton Disability Athletics. 🥉

Hooriya's achievement was celebrated by her family, who travelled with her to the West Midlands to support her. Like many other families from across the country, her family stayed in a hotel for five days during the Games, cheering Hooriya every step of the way and making the experience even more memorable.

When asked how she felt about winning her medal, Hooriya simply said she felt "good". 💜

Her father shared his pride, saying: "She loves participating, and her smile makes me happy. We've really enjoyed our stay in the Midlands and the fantastic atmosphere at the event. I look forward to taking her to more competitions and encouraging her to always do her best."

A huge congratulations to Hooriya, whose determination, enthusiasm and love of sport continue to inspire everyone around her. ⭐👏
