Meriden Adventure Playground Chelmsley Wood Meriden Adventure Playground is a registered Charity (1171350) and relies on donations & funding.

Painting-alsorts of craft-work, Gardening, Giant rope swing, Giant Climbing frame with two Slides, plenty of Wood to make what ever your imagination comes up with, Skipping ropes-all sorts of play toys to use. We have a Supervised Camp-fire where we may do some Cooking & make Hot Drinks from time to time (depending on what we have available)

‘Our Words, Our Walls’ project installation 🌟

A fabulous piece by on one of our containers. The words displayed came from children and young people themselves and were captured over a number of sessions with poets Kurly McGeachie & Emily Holton.

The young people also got to try their hand at street art which adorned our container until the installation.

Huge thanks to all involved and apologies for the wait (Summer really is bonkers right? 🤣)

A gentle reminder that we are now CLOSED for play until Sunday 6th September.

We have tried to contact as many of our most regular attendees this Summer as possible to invite you/them a small review/celebration today. We had a number of email bounce backs so if you have been here lots and haven't received an email, we're sorry.

We fully appreciate that the weather hates us today, but if you would like to join us to share your thoughts, idea's or stories even for a short while, we would really love to see you.

Places are limited to give us chance to speak to as many of you as possible so this is a BOOKINGS ONLY session unless you have received an email/flyer from us.

(Youth sessions remain open next week as young people transition to new places/settings/classes/groups)

As we finish our last week of Summer play, can we say a HUGE thanks to all of you! It has been a blast 🤩

It has been an amazing (and very hot!) Summer, the team have coped incredibly well and next week, the site and team will be having a little break to breathe before we open again on Sunday 6th for our fabulous Dads-And session.

As Friday is our last day, you have just four fabulous days to join us for whatever amazing adventures young imaginations take us on!

We have one of our fabulous ‘Family Forest School’ sessions this Sunday 10.30-12.30 🌳🍁🌿🍃

There will be no fires this weekend (for obvious reasons). There will still be lots of fabulous exploring and woodland crafts and activities.

There is a small charge for this session and we have a limit on numbers so please book: www.mapa-online.org.uk

If you can’t make that, we have a small open play session on Sunday afternoon 🤩

We are closing just an hour earlier than usual and meals will still be available for all children.

I would like to give a HUGE kudos (or 'AURA' as the kids say) and thank you to our AMAZING team who have so far worked outside, preparing the playground, delivering fantastic play and clearing up through the FIVE heatwaves we have seen so far this year.

Yesterday we dug out every gazebo and shade sail we own to create as much shade as possible (this alone took about an hour!)

We put a ton of water play out and asked everyone to keep their shoes on (we have lots of folk loving the sand and freedom but the ground and equipment can be hot)

Today will be the same - the sprinkler will be on, the shades will be up, the buckets, trays and every water containing item we can find will be full.

-For those wondering about the Hose/Sprinkler in a heatwave, our judgment is that one Sprinkler for 200+ people is far more efficient and effective than everyone putting one on at home (and not everyone can!) 😉

So bring a towel and a change of clothes if you're coming and don't leave it too late!
