Lots of history in the bricks we have dug up in the allotment over the years. Now being reused to build a solid foundation for the new water tanks.

Hard work getting it all solid and levelled, but we’re getting there.

Best time of year in the allotment with tomatoes, squash, grapes, pumpkins, courgettes, cucumbers, leeks and sweetcorn all doing well🥒🍅🌽🍇🎃

This year we have also grown onions, peas, beans, potatoes, garlic, lettuce, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, blackcurrants, blackberries, artichokes, plums and apples🍎🥬🍓🧄🧅🫐🥔🫘🫛

Everything is grown organically alongside birds, butterflies, insects, frogs and rescue hedgehogs 🐸🦋🐝🪰🐦‍⬛🪲🦔

This is Andy the hedgehog - one of this years babies - who has been released into our allotment this evening. He was rescued when he was tiny and reared by Willow Top Hedgehog Rescue. He couldn’t be released where he was found as it wasn’t safe but we hope he’ll settle in Ramsgreave instead 🦔

Rescues run entirely on donations and a lot of hard work and dedication from volunteers so please do support them if you can🙂 (The other picture is of two tiny babies also being cared for at the rescue.)
