Over the past week, families, colleagues and members of our local community came together to mark Baby Loss Awareness Week, remembering the much-loved babies who will never be forgotten 💙🕯️.

Our Service in Blackburn and Wave of Light ceremony provided moments of reflection, remembrance and support for those affected by baby loss. The events were made possible through the dedication and compassion of our bereavement midwives, maternity teams, chaplains and everyone who worked behind the scenes.

We would like to thank all those who attended and helped bring people together in remembrance. Your support helps ensure families know they are not alone.

A huge thank you to all our AHPs for everything you do for our patients👏.

Baby Loss Awareness Week, which begins today, is a time to come together in remembrance of the much-loved babies who sadly died too soon.

This week, we will be holding our annual remembrance events, including a Service in Blackburn this Sunday (Sunday 11 October) starting at 2pm at Welsey Hall, Blackburn. Then our Wave of Light ceremony on Thursday 15 October at Lancashire Women's and Newborn Centre at Burnley General at 6:30pm. Both these events are open to everyone and provide an opportunity for families, colleagues and our local community to reflect, remember and support one another.

A heartfelt thank you to our bereavement midwives, maternity teams, chaplains and the Friends of Serenity charity for helping to create these meaningful moments of remembrance💙🕯️.

Our Safeguarding team, alongside colleagues from NICU and the 0-19 Health Visiting team, spent time at the Lancashire Women and Newborn Centre speaking with parents and parents-to-be about coping with a crying baby as part of ICON week💚💚. ICON Week is an annual event to raise awareness of infant crying and support parents and carers who are struggling to cope when their baby cries.

It was a fantastic morning with excellent engagement from families and many positive conversations about supporting babies and their caregivers👏.
