Our next activity for September is now available. It's hard thinking of something new every month for quite a lot of years now. Hope you like this one, the staff were wonderful when I went for the recce, even offered me a brew in the NAAFI.

27 people enjoyed our Connect with Cheryl break for 'Breakfast at Tiffanys'. Two days starting with our Connect activities and refreshments. Free time to spend in Blackpool or nearby Lytham before our evening meal and cabaret. I think it may be for the third year running next year!

Good time was had by all yesterday on Connect with Cheryl Treasure Train. We began in Bury to board the steam train after solving the first few clues around the station. Our next stop was the very pretty village at Irwell Vale for the next set. Boarded the train again to Ramsbottom and enjoyed lunch and finished the clues to work out who the murderer was and with what weapon. A very adult cluedo. Difficult at times and we used all our brain power but we finally solved it all.

Hi all, there's still time to book the Treasure Train on 29th July if you want to join us, but it's that's time of year when we are having to book our group Christmas party! The room is reserved for us but we need a minimum number to be able to enjoy that lovely function room. Look forward to having another fabulous event.

Our Connect with Cheryl July activity is now finalised. Book your place on the TREASURE TRAIN. Join us for an exiting mix of a steam train journey and solving an adult Cluedo.
Note that going forward from now, the membership scheme will decease. Mindful of cost of living increases, all participants will pay less and the same cost for all. I hope to welcome some old friends back and new friends may join us in the future.

Another great activity for June, Lakes and Lilies. After refreshments in the Treeface cafe in Yarrow Country Park, an easy paced walk followed around the spectacular lake and up to view the weir and famous Salmon Steps which were constructed to assist salmon and sea trout to swim up to access the pennine hills for spawning. A short move down to Birkacre Garden Centre where we enjoyed lunch and a mooch round the lovely flowers and plants.

Another great Connect activity yesterday, Brunch Dates and Mill Gates. We all enjoyed brunch at JJs at The Dugdale followed by a private guided tour at Queen Street Mill, the oldest steam powered mill in the world. Now a museum all the looms and equipment are original from 1894. Just time in their cafe for coffee and cake before they closed the gate behind us!

What fabulous way to celebrate St. George's Day with our Connect family. We picked such a lovely sunny day and so well looked after at the Foxfields Country Hotel. The day started with trimming up the private dining room a bit and activities followed a delicious lunch. We had 5 lucky prize winners in Kath, Peter K, Peter E, Sheila and John. The day ended with our traditional and patriotic sing along.
Another personal added excitement to the day is the arrival of daughter and aptly named little grandson George. Fly safely.
A popular date as also the first date, 1973 with future husband John. Thank you all.
The next events for May and June are now published. They will be great events, reserve your place!
