BWF Labour Women's Forum

BWF Labour Women's Forum We are women of the Labour party and their allies across the Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde areas.

We aim to give a voice to women's issues across the Fylde Coast through community engagement, social events and fundraising and campaigning on matters of importance to women. We are keen to connect with groups and organisations in the broader community to better understand what our communities need and how we can support them through our activities.

In the next six months, I will continue my work with volunteers and community groups, using their skills and knowledge to make life better in Blackpool, as part of my plan to fight for residents through the Conservative cost of living crisis.

Attending the Green Dot Bystander launch today, finding out more about bystander training and how it can give us all the knowledge, skills and confidence to prevent violence and shift social norms.

Come along to the launch of the Green Dot Bystander programme on Thursday 9 March from 1.30pm-3.30pm at Walkabout Blackpool.

As part of the campaign, you can find out how weโ€™re making Blackpool a safer place for everyone.

Green Dot is a prevention programme focusing on sexual assault, domestic abuse and harassment.

The training provides people (bystanders or witnesses) with the knowledge, skills and confidence to identify, intervene and report sexual assault.

The idea of a green dot is used to demonstrate certain behaviours that promote safety such as pulling a friend out of a high-risk situation.

Sound interesting?

Join us at the launch event to find out more. Our group of trainers will be in attendance and they will be able to talk to you in more detail about how you can be involved.

Is it your mum, your sister, your teacher, your boss? Who's that woman in your life that inspires you to push harder, think differently, or who is there for you no matter what?
