Today, history has been made. This is just the first step towards destigmatizing homelessness as a whole.

The repeal of the Vagrancy Act marks the end of a law that criminalised people for sleeping rough: a significant milestone in the fight for dignity, compassion and justice.

But changing the law is only the beginning. We must continue challenging the stigma surrounding homelessness and work towards a UK where everyone is treated with empathy, respect and humanity, regardless of their housing situation.

Let's keep the conversation going and build a society that sees homelessness as a social issue to solve, not a crime to punish.

We have noticed an increase in the bypassing of meters in our properties.

Tampering with meters not only puts you and your family at risk, it also endangers your neighbours and our colleagues carrying out essential repair and safety work.

At Community Gateway, we have a zero-tolerance policy on meter tampering. Our Tenancy Management Team is taking action, including legal proceedings and possession action against those involved.

I'll be sleeping out in St.Johns square to raise money for Streetlife, Blackpool's youth homeless shelter.
