Youth Work Week Wales

Youth work plays a vital role in preventing youth homelessness and reducing the number of young people who become Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET).

At Caerphilly Youth Service, our Lead Worker Team works closely with our Engagement and Progression Officer to identify young people who may be at risk and provide support through early engagement, intervention and prevention.

Youth work is about more than responding to challenges—it’s about creating opportunities, building resilience and helping young people achieve positive futures.

Early intervention changes lives. Prevention creates brighter futures.

Mae gwaith ieuenctid yn chwarae rhan hanfodol wrth atal digartrefedd ymhlith pobl ifanc a lleihau nifer y bobl ifanc sy’n dod yn NEET (Nid mewn Addysg, Cyflogaeth na Hyfforddiant).

Yng Ngwasanaeth Ieuenctid Caerffili, mae ein Tîm Gweithwyr Arweiniol yn gweithio’n agos gyda’n Swyddog Ymgysylltu a Dilyniant i nodi pobl ifanc a allai fod mewn perygl, gan ddarparu cymorth drwy ymgysylltu cynnar, ymyrraeth ac atal.

Mae gwaith ieuenctid yn ymwneud â llawer mwy nag ymateb i heriau—mae’n ymwneud â chreu cyfleoedd, meithrin gwydnwch a helpu pobl ifanc i gyflawni dyfodol cadarnhaol.

Mae ymyrraeth gynnar yn newid bywydau. Mae atal yn creu dyfodol mwy disglair.

Always one of our favourite Fun Days with the brilliant young people and staff from IST (Caerphilly’s Intensive Support Team).

Karaoke, Gaming, Lego, Crafting, Hair and Beauty, Outdoor Games— and so much more!

We enjoyed a fantastic salad bar, along with plenty of snacks and treats. It’s so important that young people have a safe space to grow, develop, build friendships, and most of all, have fun.

A huge shout-out to the incredible IST staff who work tirelessly with young people and families across Caerphilly.

HPAD and IST—working together to support young people and families. Together, we really can make a difference.

For Social work Week we wanted to say a huge thank you to all the Social Workers we working partnership with in Caerphilly.

Partnership working is essential to work we do. The role of Children’s Services is essential.

Recognition and respect to those hard working Social Workers rightly needs to be celebrated

Llamau welcomes the passing of the Homelessness and Social Housing Allocation Bill in Wales: a significant step towards preventing homelessness before it happens.

This new legislation focuses on acting earlier and helping public services work together, so people can get the right support before reaching crisis point. Factors such as domestic abuse, family breakdown and poor mental health can increase someone’s risk of homelessness, and early action makes all the difference.

Llamau is proud to have shared insight from people with lived experience during the development of the Bill. Homelessness is not inevitable, together, it can be prevented 💛
