Proud as ever to be voted in as chair of the Bletchley Fenny Stratford TC Community and Environmental committee for another council year, the fourth year I believe now with the brilliant Mariee Wymer as vice chair.

We absolutely love working with and for the community, to protect and improve our green spaces for us all to enjoy.

We have our Annual Meeting of the Electors on Tuesday 19th May Newton Leys Pavilion 19:30 - 20:00 where we and other chairs will look back over the year and brief you on what we've got planned for 26/27.

We've all had time to reflect on the local elections with different perspectives. You may be left, right, center. left centre, right centre, not bothered or have voted as a massive opposition to how you feel the government has delivered so far.

All the candidates were relentless in their efforts during the canvassing, a tribute to their passion and community spirit to do the right thing. As is obvious voting reflects the temperature of the country and it doesn't feel nice.

All of the Councillors will have the local community at heart and you have to give them a chance to do what they have set out, giving Bletchley and Fenny Stratford a voice. They have the platform to do this and I'm sure will feedback with progress, gauge opinions and table good proposals, work with others on benefits to the town.

I'm loving the discussions which means there is definitely an improvement on the apathy we've seen in previous elections with the turn out. 38% turnout is a whole lot better.

Good luck to the new Councillors and thanks to those that served previously, continue to be community focused and are sure dusting themselves off to start again. Let's avoid any negativity and support each other.

No change.
Some change.
Radical change.
Unexpected change.

Whatever you’re hoping for in these local elections — it only happens if people turn up.

Change isn’t decided by opinions… it’s decided by participation.

Every vote adds to the collective voice, and when fewer people take part, that voice becomes less representative of the community.

Local decisions shape everyday life — from services to communities — and low turnout means fewer voices influencing those outcomes.

So whether you want things to stay the same or be completely different…

Don’t forget.
Don’t assume.
Don’t leave it to someone else.

Because not voting isn’t neutral — it’s a choice you might regret later.

Shaping the Future of Bletchley & Fenny Stratford

Big changes are coming — and YOU can help decide what they look like.

The Neighbourhood Plan is our community’s blueprint for how Bletchley and Fenny Stratford will grow up to 2050.
It’s written by local people, for local people, and it sets out what kind of homes, shops, green spaces, and community facilities we want — and where they should go.

It’s not just another council document.
Once approved, it becomes entwined in planning law, meaning developers must follow it when proposing new builds.

What It Covers
- Town Centre Regeneration – Reviving Queensway and Aylesbury Street with vibrant shops and community spaces.
- Design & Character – Making sure new buildings fit our town’s look and feel.
- Heritage & Identity – Protecting our history and canalside charm.
- Green Spaces & Biodiversity – Safeguarding parks, trees, and wildlife corridors.
- Walking, Cycling & Connectivity – Creating safer, greener routes for everyone.

Why It Matters
***Milton Keynes’ 2050 Plan*** includes major new housing and redevelopment. Without a Neighbourhood Plan, developers decide what happens. With it, residents decide — where, how, and what kind of growth we want.

***MK 2050 Plan***
The MK2050 Plan sets the big picture for how Milton Keynes will grow over the next 25 years, and our Neighbourhood Plan must legally align with it — but it also gives us the power to protect our community from development that doesn’t fit. By setting our own local rules on design, green spaces, heritage, housing mix and infrastructure, we make sure that whatever growth MK2050 brings, it happens on our terms, in the right places, and in a way that strengthens Bletchley and Fenny Stratford rather than overwhelms them. You shape the town, not the developers.

Consultation Coming Soon
This summer, the Town Council and Steering Group will launch the Regulation 14 public consultation.
You’ll be able to:
- Read the plan online or in person
- Share your views through surveys and drop‑ins
- Help shape the final version before it goes to referendum

Your Town, Your Say**
This is your chance to make sure Bletchley and Fenny Stratford grow the right way — protecting what we love and improving what we need.

You shape the town, not the developers.
Leave a legacy, not regrets!!!!

I’m part of the steering group and am personally championing BFS1 - The Spatial plan and BFS11 - Green Infrastructure Network planning policies that make sure growth happens in the right places and in the right way.

These policies guide where new homes, jobs, shops, and community facilities should be located so development supports regeneration in Central Bletchley and Fenny Stratford, rather than being scattered or poorly planned. At the same time, they protect and strengthen our network of green spaces, parks, wildlife corridors, and waterways, ensuring nature is enhanced alongside development. Together, these policies promote balanced growth, protect local services and infrastructure, reduce flood risk, improve quality of life, and secure a sustainable future for the whole community.
