Flight Sergeant Owen Miller-Hall of 1000 Blyth Squadron Air Training Corps has been formally appointed as Blyth’s first-ever Mayoral Cadet.

The new civic role has been created to strengthen links between the Council, young people and the wider community. As Mayoral Cadet, Owen will accompany the Mayor of Blyth at ceremonial engagements and community events, serving as an ambassador for young people across the town while supporting the Council’s commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant.

🎶 Bay City Rollers are coming back to Blyth Live Music Festival 2026! 🎶

After last year’s unforgettable storm-shortened set, the legendary Bay City Rollers will return to Blyth Live this summer to finish what they started.

Fans will remember the moment the band were midway through “Bye Bye Baby” when a sudden thunderstorm swept across the site. With safety the top priority, the difficult decision was made to cut power to the stage — but the crowd kept singing in the rain, creating one of the most memorable Blyth Live moments ever.

In its 13th year the music festival sponsored by Phoenix Taxis Northumberland will see the Rollers join other local bands to create a day of music, fun and dancing!
