Be tick aware this summer ⚠️

There are some things in nature that are best avoided. One of these things comes in the form of ticks.

✅ Some of the ways to stay safe is to reduce the chance of being bitten by staying on clearly defined paths when walking in the Forest, using insect repellent and performing regular tick checks.

🔍 If you spot an unattached tick, you can simply brush them off. If a tick has latched on, the safest way to remove it is by using a pair of fine-tipped tweezers or a tick removal tool.

Please be aware that on Friday 12th June there will be tractors operating at various locations on site as we work towards removing Himalayan Balsam, a common but invasive species.
The impact on your journey through our beautiful woods should be minimal but please follow any diversion signs in place.

By helping keep Cardinham Woods litter‑free, who are you protecting?

It’s not just the trees and wildflowers that suffer when litter is left behind, it’s every creature that calls this woodland home.

A dropped crisp packet might not seem like much, but to a hedgehog snuffling for food, it can be dangerous.

A bit of plastic tangled in the undergrowth can trap a fox cub. Even the tiniest scraps can harm our songbirds, who may accidentally ingest them while foraging. And for our ever‑curious squirrels, litter can be a serious hazard.

💚 By taking your rubbish home, you’re helping protect the Forest’s most vulnerable residents. Thank you.

🚵 New trail addition!

The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed we’ve added a new bench along the Hells Teeth cycling trail.

We might be biased, but it could be one of the best views in the woods. It’s the perfect place to pause and catch your breath before you begin the thrilling descent🌲

🚫 Sorry walkers… this one’s officially reserved for cyclists only!

Keep an eye out for it on your next ride. We hope you enjoy 💚

👟Advance Notice🥇

This Sunday 7th June Cardinham Woods is hosting the Bodmin Blue Light 10km Charity Trail Race!

Proceeds are being donated to three important blue light charities supporting firefighters, ambulance and police.

The runners will start along the the Lady Vale, before passing through the Deviock, Lidcutt and Callywith areas of the woods. The race starts at 10am, so for a quieter visit, we recommend visiting the woods in the afternoon.
