Have your say on draft sexual health plan for West Sussex:

We want West Sussex to be a place where everyone can enjoy good sexual and reproductive health, make informed choices, and access high-quality, inclusive services when they need them throughout their life.

West Sussex partners have prepared a draft Sexual Health Strategic Framework 2026-2031 for the county and would like your feedback on the five proposed priorities.

The Framework sets out how organisations will work together to reduce inequalities, improve access to services and support better sexual and reproductive health and wellbeing across the county.
Everyone in West Sussex, including young people (16+), professionals, and local organisations, are invited to take part and have their say by completing our short survey before 11.55pm on Sunday, 18 October 2026.

"A very big congratulations to Kez and her team at Bognorphenia for an extremely successful Bognorphenia Annual Weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the entertainment and music on offer, and meeting some of the young people who had been a big part of the weekend. Hearing their enthusiasm and excitement was certainly very inspiring. I hope the rest of the weekend was just as brilliant and that plenty of copies of the community album ‘Small Geezers’ were sold.

Bognorphenia are one of several youth-based community groups serving Bognor Regis, ensuring that our younger residents have somewhere to go to express themselves, be creative, make friends and enjoy social activities in a safe and welcoming environment.

This week, I had the pleasure of presenting some of this year’s successful applicants of the 2026 ‘Youth & Young Persons Budget’ with their funding. Representatives from Making Theatre Gaining Skills, Young Persons Shop, 39 Club and Saltwater Creations amongst others, came to the Town Hall, and I was delighted to learn more about the positive impact these contributions will have.

From emotional support sessions and IT equipment to assist with homework, CV writing and college or university applications, to the delivery of the 2027 Bognor Puppet Festival and beach-based art and craft workshops, funding will support a wide range of initiatives to benefit our local young people.

The Town Council’s Grant Aid Scheme is still open for applications, offering financial support to community and voluntary organisations that make a positive difference to residents. The application pack is available on our website under ‘Quick Links’. Completed applications must be received by 5.00pm on Thursday 12th November 2026 and emailed to [email protected].

The Southdowns Music Festival takes place this weekend, starting today, with live music and a jam-packed programme of free entertainment across the Town Centre and seafront. For all the details, including what’s on, visit the Southdowns Music Festival’s website: www.southdownsfolkfest.co.uk.

Lastly, the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner’s annual ‘Safer in Sussex’ survey is now open. Please consider taking a few minutes to share your views on public safety and policing. The closing date is 30th November 2026".
