A new leadership team for Bolton.

Following last night’s Annual Council meeting, Cllr Akhtar Zaman has been appointed Leader of Bolton Council, with Cllr Martin Donaghy serving as Deputy Leader.

Labour councillors know the election sent a clear message. People want councillors who listen, focus on the basics, and deliver visible improvements in their communities.

That is what this new team must now do.

Our focus is on cleaner streets, safer communities, decent homes, strong local services, and making sure every part of Bolton feels the benefit of stable, serious leadership.

We will work with others where it is in Bolton’s interests, and we will keep reporting back to residents on the work being done.
