Prevent Training (Intermediate) - Tues 21st July 1.00-4.00pm Hill Centre
Training to support and enable professionals to deal with concerns of radicalisation whatever the ideology with children they have contact.
The Prevent training course is designed to help professionals understand their responsibilities under the UK government's Prevent duty, which is part of the broader counter-terrorism strategy (CONTEST).
Prevent training equips professionals with the knowledge and skills to:
* Recognise signs of radicalisation and extremism in individuals.
* Understand the pathways that can lead someone to adopt extremist views.
* Know how to respond appropriately, including how to refer concerns through safeguarding channels.
* Work collaboratively with other agencies to support individuals at risk.
It’s relevant to anyone working in education, health, social care, policing, housing, or any frontline role where safeguarding is a priority.

Domestic Abuse (Management of a Crises Call and Disclosure) - Tues 7th July 10.00-11.30am Hill Centre.
Immediate steps to take when dealing with a crises call or disclosure of Domestic Abuse

The training will be delivered remotely via Zoom by Fortalice staff who provide extensive services for victims of domestic abuse
At this difficult time, victims who are suffering the effects of domestic abuse may contact services and professionals.
The training will cover: Good practice – How to work with service users in distress Assessing safety – What questions to ask to assess risk, including safeguarding Crisis planning- How to support service users to keep safe within the home Useful apps for service users – Apps that service users can use for support Fortalice services – Outline of Fortalice’s services and how to access them.

Dealing with families where there are domestic abuse and child protection issues and require more in-depth knowledge.

Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews (SCR's) Friday 12th June 10am to 12.30pm Hill Centre.
A look in to the practice, process , learning and implementation of reviews both locally and nationally.
This course is for those people who require a higher level of expertise and a fuller understanding of the "Working Together" requirements to identify and assess concerns and then to plan, undertake reviews, actions and interventions.

This will include:

Keeping Children Safe: Child Protection (Advanced) - Refresher - Thurs 11th June 10am to 1.30pm Hill Centre
Outlines child protection practice and procedures essential for those undertaking the role of Safeguarding Children lead, deputy or similar.
The KCS (Advanced) Refresher course is for DSL or similar who have previously completed the full course and just need to renew their training.

Objectives:
Identify and differentiate the thresholds of help and need as outlined in the ‘Bolton Framework for Action’ (FFA) Examine key points in the FFA to ensure children receive the right help, at the right time from the right people Ensure an understanding of the Child Protection process progressing to and involvement in Child Protection Case Conferences. To increase knowledge of information sharing with and without consent when safeguarding children. Identify support and resources for the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or similar. Investigate and raise self -awareness current themes from reviews.
