Midlothian Council Library Service Welcome to Midlothian Libraries!

We have nine branch libraries and one Mobile Library Service providing books, audiobooks, DVDs, music, free internet access and much, much more. Our Libraries provide a stimulating and safe environment for everyone with a wide range of activities including reading groups, crafts for young and old, Bookbug sessions, author visits and computer support classes. Visit the library website and you can search the library catalogue, reserve items or renew loans whenever you like, start downloading eBooks and eAudiobooks. Newtongrange celebrated the Welfare park Century in September. As part of the festivities, the Village Voices group created a lovely display in Newtongrange Library.

Pop into the library to see photos of the park throughout the years, and shared memories from locals. The exhibition will be on until the end of October.

Meet Emilie Crawford — last year’s winner of the Local Community Award. Emilie won due to her passion for protecting the environment, taking action through litter picking, designing bins at school, and campaigning for more bins in her village of Newtongrange.
