Six people have been charged following the discovery of stolen vehicles in Bushey.
On Thursday 13 August, officers from the Operational Support Group (OSG) were on patrol when they were alerted to a vehicle of interest travelling into Hertfordshire.
Following a search, they located it parked up outside an industrial site in Pinner Road.
Whilst officers from the Response team were dispatched to assist, a low loader arrived at the location with a stolen Porsche on the back. The driver and a passenger were subsequently arrested.
A further four people were also arrested after being discovered inside a unit nearby, along with a stolen BMW which had been broken down into parts.
The case was passed to colleagues from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Crime Series Investigation Unit (CSIU) to progress.
They worked tirelessly over the next 24 hours, resulting in charges being authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) for all six men.
Detective Constable Alicia Vieyra, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is an excellent example of teams from across the constabulary working together quickly and effectively. Officers from the Operational Support Group, Response, CID and CSIU all played a vital role in this investigation, helping to progress enquiries at pace.
“Vehicle crime can have a significant impact on victims, and we remain committed to identifying those suspected of being involved, building the strongest possible case and bringing offenders before the courts.”
The following have been charged with conspiracy to receive stolen goods:
• Diemantis Petkunis, aged 38, of no fixed address.
• Jack Mansfield, aged 30, of Voysey Gardens, Basildon.
• Joshua Spiers, aged 31, of Creasen Butt Close, Heybridge.
• Tomas Bajorinas, aged 37, of Morley Road, Barking.
• Antanas Jansauskas, aged 59, of Tyrone Road, Beckton.
• Aleksejs Rudakovs, aged 41, of no fixed address.
Five of the men have been remanded into custody while Spiers remains on conditional bail. All six are due to appear before St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday 15 September.
